Next Monday is Houston/Jets. Lets see what Raw comes up with.![]()
All these guys are one trick ponies.
Bryan - YES YES NO NO
Punk - Whine bytch moan
AJ - Skipping/Piss poor acting
Ziggler - I'm a show off woooooo
Vickie - EXCUSE ME
Truth - Lil Jimmy
Orton -
Sheamus - Corny stories
Cena is the only person with any character depth. You got Southern Preacher Cena, Boston Cena, Poppy Head Cena, Sad Cena, Smug Cena, Serious Cena, and Tough Cena. You never know what you're going to get from the guy.
But he's getting old. Injured. And the star of a sinking, directionless company. He can't carry a roster of one trick ponies and cater to kids like a cartoon character. Eventually Cena won't matter and ratings are going to be TNA status.

You forgot to put something on Orton.
Na.... I don't think you got the context of what he just did.
shyt was brilliant, think about this one more time
i could see liking cena as way to counter the shet he gets from smarks and wrestling nerds... but independently... like taking his actual wrestling out of the equation... how is it possible for a grown man to like his character.. his promos are painfully... and i mean PAINFULLY corny at this point... he doesnt ever say a line that could make u smirk nor does he ever son his opponent verbally... hes a cornball
If we go that route, we can say that about any wrestler in the WWE. Word to Liggins' post earlier.
If Daniel Bryan is a one-trick pony, so too is Goldust. This year, he's had more tweaks to his character than any wrestler on the roster. From an "underdog" face, to an overconfident champ, to a manipulative boyfriend, to a jilted self-important douchebag all in the span of 10 months, and all of it has flowed naturally. Him having a no-brainer catchphrase throughout is irrelevant.
Just a question, (I don't have an opinion one way or another) but why do many of you care about ratings so much? I'm fairly certain that it's not always an accurate barometer of how good the show is, or the caliber of talent on it. Is it just the easiest way to disparage a wrestler that you don't like, or do some of you really check for the ratings? Just a question.![]()
I wondered about this for a long time too. I'm not a fan of the numbers, I really couldn't care less about them. Especially since the target audience these days, the primary group the WWE is trying to appeal to, is kids. The way I see it, if a wrestler draws good ratings these days, he's probably appealing to kids, which means I'm less likely to be interested anyway.
Hoping for low ratings makes sense for most of us in TSC, since low ratings mean change to the product is more likely. But liking a wrestler BECAUSE he draws high ratings, in the PG Era, makes no sense unless you love the product the way it is.
