Raw gets abysmal lowest non-NFL rating since 1996. What would you do to turn it around?

You can have larger than life characters with smaller sized guys. You just cited two in your example. But for the most part I agree with you. TV ratings are down because they don't have have any compelling characters or stories. Nothing that happens on RAW really matters, and most of these characters just go through the motions anyways - why even bother watching when none of the stories have any lasting consequences and none of the characters ever change or evolve?

If you're gonna be as small as Balor you need a huge personality. McGregor and Mayweather's charisma jumps off the screen as soon as you see them. Just by the way they walk and talk. Nobody in WWE has that and especially if you're a smaller guy, you NEED it.

I really think the New Day was on the cusp of showing they could be big-time stars when they had that promo they had with the Rock. It showed they could hang with an all time great and were extremely comfortable as talkers, but they haven't been given anything since - they've just been put in filler spots since their program with the Wyatts.

I really agree though, they really must stop signing so many guys from the indies who can 'work' but can't emote or talk at all.

  • Give the main belt to braun strowman, get him publicity (have him beat up a celebrity on raw or something leading to a big movie release, and get him on jimmy kimmel in character, with the belt)

Piggybacking off the bold, bring back kayfabe. Even if just a little. Let the wrestlers do major interviews in character and, if they want, small-time shoot interviews as themselves. Keep the official WWE social media accounts in character. Want to show off your gym progress pics? Put that under your real name. No more of this 50/50 nonsense. Did you see Goldberg's return interview on ESPN? He's very clearly looking at notes. The audience will play along, they're not dumb. We still let comedians and some musicians go out in character, why not wrestlers?

But leave it up to these neckbeards and they would have Cesaro as champ which would equal historically low ratings
There are guys that have personality and can wrestle. I just think great wrestling matches should be saved for PPVs. On raw, you should have one big main event that you build for an entire week and have a lot of edgy promos that guys have their creative input in.

Its hard to do with 3 hours.

The argument people would have to that is the fact that the wwe creative is holding Cesaro back. If he had creative freedom would he still be considered boring?

WWE needs more Enzo's and less Indy workrate dudes. That's a hard truth that most don't want to admit

I agree.

I really don't think a lot of cats understand that indyfying the WWE isn't gonna work. Cant turn it into the carbon copy of another fed. There's a place for everything.

Book a compelling show. There's never any mysteries or cliffhangers that make me want to tune in next week. And at this point it's always the same cookie cutter shyt each week.

Main Eventer opening up with a 20 minute promo
Tag champ singles match
Two boring cruiserweight matches
Etc

fukk that shyt, bytches done managed to even make the damn Hardys boring :snoop:

WWE also doesn't use their legends in a meaningful capacity at all. fukk bringing them in only at WM, find some interesting shyt for them to do and announce that shyt in advance.

Can't remember the last time Austin has been seen or heard from, WM32?

Anyway, you got all these legends on legends deals. Let them do something during times like these not just from January-April.

Austin
Bret
Flair
Sting
Goldberg
HBK
Hall
Nash
HHH
Vince
Rock (if possible)

I said it before and I'll say it again, give us a reason to care about a character, more promos involving the wrestler, more promotional appearances with the wrestler. Why not have Sasha or Enzo on The Breakfast Club? Or have a promo on RAW where Enzo goes shopping with Wale at Foot Locker, sometimes it's the little things like that. WWE shouldn't be afraid to tap into the Urban market, I don't think they realize how many black people are fans of wrestling.

More shyt talking too, adding "bytch" into every other promo feels forced sometimes, let these wrestlers come up with their own shyt talking, let's see if they really got their own "ether gene", who knows? Might be the next meme or some shyt :pachaha:

Like @Silkk said, book something compelling to the viewer to make them want to tune in the next week, Samoa Joe's music blasting at the end of the last show doesn't make me want to tune in next week. Hell, even Empire managed to give an interesting season finale cliffhanger last night.

Back the whole character thing, RAW is a fukking three hour show and the Hardyz have barely had any mic time on there, they always manage kill the momentum of any returning or debuting star :snoop:
