Raw gets abysmal lowest non-NFL rating since 1996. What would you do to turn it around?

:mjlol:what... u talking like the WWE aint done what u just said from 05-2014 and decimated their casual crowd. only 1 dude on that list the public even knows and thats cena, at 6'1, he's considered 'small' by the wwe.

u talkin like reigns aint been anointed for the last 3 years... big white dude like u want, right? hows that working out

after the attitude era, the only 2 storylines that have gotten mainstream attention were from the small dudes u hate.. punk and bryan. which were then ruined by... u guessed it

The WWE fukked up by pushing Cena down peoples throat for years as a babyface when the fans were clearly sick of him. Then in return it ricocheted on them to where every heel whom he faced were cheered and that made it hard for the heels to really get heat. Now their doing the same thing to Reigns and when Storman killed him on Raw... You had fans chanting he deserved it. Their logic is "Well long as he's getting a reaction period, Thats all that matter". Thats retarded

I actually agree with the whole "as long as you get a reaction, it's okay," but only when you let guys embody their role as the bad guy when they get booed.

Good story and comedy are first and foremost. After that you can get to unscripted promos/announcers and far more backstage/ off set segments. Change these things and it's already 100% more engaging than right now.

That and Braun is actually presented and acts like a fukkin monster, it fits his look and the way he goes about things.

What makes ambrose a lunatic? Never seen him do anything that crazy.

A lot of these nicknames either mean nothing or the wrestler they're attached to doesn't act in a way befitting of their moniker.
That goes all back to character development/booking/writing and creative actually give a damm about a lot of guys/girl.

yeah i gave up fantasy booking

WWE Is dead to the mainstream. No more attitude era. It was a unique 3 year period out of decades of family friendly boring tv.

i was watching back old WWE tv shows and that shyt is just as boring in the early 90s as it is now.

WWE is like the circus. Dated as hell unless you are a loyal fan whose going down with the sinking ship :mjcry: like we all are.

Look at how WWE has changed over the past 10 years....

WWE was pushing their own shytty OVW factory stars and refusing to get any "indy talent"...
  • The Great Khali
  • Mr. Kennedy
  • MVP
  • Elijah Burke
  • John Morrison
  • Lashley

instead, alll the neckbeards wanted ROH & TNA darlings like 7-8 years ago to save them from shytty Celeb hosting RAWs....
  • Tyler Black (Seth Rollins)
  • AJ Styles
  • Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose)
  • Shinsuke Nakamura
  • Austin Aries
  • Samoa Joe
  • KENTA (Hideo Itami)
  • Prince Devitt (Finn Balor)
  • Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens)
  • El Generico (Sami Zayn)
so WWE gives us what we wanted and still, the ratings (not that they matter) are WORST THAN EVER.

that just goes to show you, fans liked the "car crash" style of booking The Attitude Era was. The mainstream liked that uncensored, unpredictability that Austin caused with blowing up limos, zamboni trucks, beer bashes, middle finger to the boss,

Now, all people have to do to get their fix of uncensored fukkery is type it in on Youtube or go to WSHH or even create their own fukkery on their Snapchat and upload it and get their own lil 15 mins of Fame.

WWE cant hang with how technology has changed. Thats why they have gone back to pushing their company towards lil kids who know no better and impressionable falling for Roman & Cena's goody two shoes act.

I don't watch WWE but I heard Braun was doing some interesting things before he was injured. He was dope but hes only on for 15 minutes a show so what are you doing with the other 2:45? If the whole vibe of the show isn't wavy, it doesn't matter if one character is. He's gonna get lost in the wackness.

The show is culturally out of touch. Not a single person under 30 (regardless of race) is listening to hard rock like that but its still the theme songs for Raw and Smackdown. They gotta update their presentation and expand their market.

You got 70 year old white dudes scripting promos for 28 year olds who listen to Kendrick backstage. Let these young dudes cook and let them dictate the product.
Very good and interesting post. Very good.

At the time of the Attitude era, WWE was co-opting what was hot in society at the time. ECW was making strides on a shoestring budget. Jerry Springer was so hot, dude ended up getting a movie based on his show. The episode of South Park where Cartman dad was revealed was the highest rated cable program of all time to that point. This is 20 years later. Society changed, and WWE gets a better advertiser clientele. Mattel advertising on your tv is much better than Hansen energy drinks. Plus, you can get so far out there that your fans get desensitized to your product. The key element for wrestling is to leave the fan wanting more

That big time. That's what happened way back, and HHH said himself in some interview that they had to scale back on things, and try to build it back up. The problem is, they did a complete 180 as far as scaling back, to the point where they have insulted their viewers. Do we need hardcore matches like in 1999? No, but in an organization where it's foundation is based upon conflict, things need to feel personal. There's no point in having a hell in a cell or NO DQ match if the cell doesn't effect the outcome of the match or 1 kendo stick shot in the last 2 minutes of a 10 minute match is all that happens. shyt is just overall tame in the WWE, though better than 2010. Look at HHH/Ambrose and Brock/Ambrose from two PPVs. shyt was supposed be blood personal feuds and were some of the most tame matches you'll ever see in relation to the stipulations.

Stopped watching when they "cleaned it up." If they had the style like when DX, and NWO was around that would be cool. Don't know if it's gotten edgier or not tho.

I don't think this is this answer at all.

I watched WM32 after a 15 year sabbatical from wrestling

First thing I asked noticed was "These old nikkas still around:hhh:"

I'm not saying they should live under a rock but damn

You gotta cultivate new talent, and I don't know how but regressing back to the past is lazy
They shouldn't have all of their legends show up once a year on a show that doesn't need them. They should be spread around throughout the year when business is slow/stale, and to assist when certain full time talent need help getting over.

Not true. One of WWE's major sources of revenue is TV rights fees. Wrestling brings in very low ad rates for TV networks, much less than scripted programming and live sports, so the only reason to keep it on the air is because it gives you high ratings and lets the network say it was #1 for the night.

So, at a certain point if the ratings keep dropping, USA might look and say.. how much is this really worth it anymore? WWE has been important to them because of the rating, and because USA hasn't created any original hit shows lately, but if the ratings keep falling and USA decides it can put something else in that slot to make more money, they will do it.

This is all per Meltzgawd.

Yet USA Network can't stop adding hours of WWE. USA Network will not cancel WWE before 2019 and who knows where tv will be by then.
