Raw gets abysmal lowest non-NFL rating since 1996. What would you do to turn it around?

You can't tell me that DNA. by Kendrick wouldn't be a dope song for promo package tho :wow:

It would. I was actually thinking about that song when I made the post. :whew:

Hell, since they liked using old rock songs at one point, they could easily do that with hip hop, going all the way back to Run-D.M.C. ("King of Rock" and "Raising Hell" could work perfectly). Stuff like "'Til I Collapse," "Still D.R.E.," "Exhibit C," some old Kanye stuff (College Dropout to Graduation). They used "Hate Me Now" for The Miz and that was one of the best video packages they've ever done. The fact that hip hop is still something they haven't really messed with is mind boggling to me.

yeah i gave up fantasy booking

WWE Is dead to the mainstream. No more attitude era. It was a unique 3 year period out of decades of family friendly boring tv.

i was watching back old WWE tv shows and that shyt is just as boring in the early 90s as it is now.

WWE is like the circus. Dated as hell unless you are a loyal fan whose going down with the sinking ship :mjcry: like we all are.

Look at how WWE has changed over the past 10 years....

WWE was pushing their own shytty OVW factory stars and refusing to get any "indy talent"...
  • The Great Khali
  • Mr. Kennedy
  • MVP
  • Elijah Burke
  • John Morrison
  • Lashley

instead, alll the neckbeards wanted ROH & TNA darlings like 7-8 years ago to save them from shytty Celeb hosting RAWs....
  • Tyler Black (Seth Rollins)
  • AJ Styles
  • Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose)
  • Shinsuke Nakamura
  • Austin Aries
  • Samoa Joe
  • KENTA (Hideo Itami)
  • Prince Devitt (Finn Balor)
  • Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens)
  • El Generico (Sami Zayn)
so WWE gives us what we wanted and still, the ratings (not that they matter) are WORST THAN EVER.

that just goes to show you, fans liked the "car crash" style of booking The Attitude Era was. The mainstream liked that uncensored, unpredictability that Austin caused with blowing up limos, zamboni trucks, beer bashes, middle finger to the boss,

Now, all people have to do to get their fix of uncensored fukkery is type it in on Youtube or go to WSHH or even create their own fukkery on their Snapchat and upload it and get their own lil 15 mins of Fame.

WWE cant hang with how technology has changed. Thats why they have gone back to pushing their company towards lil kids who know no better and impressionable falling for Roman & Cena's goody two shoes act.

This is why I love the 80s shyt. Even a lot of the younger heads are loving the 80s era... I mean you had over the top fukkery promos:

Crazy beatdowns:

Over the top attacks like Funk putting a plastic bag over Flair's face:

Fans want the illusion that what they seeing blurs with reality too.. Reigns and Stroman beating the shyt out of each other was a throwback to the attitude era IMO with the beatdowns but dumbass Titus Oneil kills the momentum of that feud by posting that picture of them taking IG pictures and vacations together.

After reading every page and every post, yes to make a difference going forward you need the following

Better IC and US and midcard feuds
Better edgier storylines
New writers
Etc, etc, etc.

But realistically the WWE needs a complete reboot of sort. Now I'll be one 100% honest, I'm a wrestling fan, wrestling fan, give me AJ, cesaro, owens, nakamura over cena, orton, wyatt, taker any day of the week. But the casual fans don't wanna sit through 20 minutes cesaro vs neville. They wanna see kane vs strauman beat the shyt out of each other for 10 minutes.

When casual fans tune in to a fake wrestling show, they wanna see larger than life personalities and wrestlers, this isn't boxing or ufc, where the respect the term "pound for pound". When they tune in, they don't wanna see a 5'6 130lb wrestler going toe to toe with big show or strauman. I remember a few weeks I flipped the channel to raw and my wife who was a casual fan during attitude era turned to me and said "who's this midget, baby you bigger than him" and I'm barely 5'10 myself.

When casual fans tune in, you don't want them thinking the fake wrestler who's in the ring looks weaker then them. I love owens but he looks like a fat slob, samoa joe is fat but he legit looks like he can kick your ass just like vader or mankind. Balor doesn't belong anywhere near the main event either, to small. Remember this isn't my opinion, this is the opinion of casual viewers.

WWE is in a tough spot, do they keep pushing the indy darlings and keep the smarks happy, the same smarks who are currently keeping them a float. Or do they push the wyatts, corbins, ortons, mahals, cenas and start putting the rollins, aj, owens, balor in midcard feuds and completely kill off their smark crowd in hopes of getting casual fans back

This is actually true.

Its truly the casual crowd (who want to see big muscles and abnormal sized men)

Vs

The indy neckbeards (athletic midget cacs with kickpads)

I think if Mahal takes off as a legit heel champion like Miz was the past year, they phasing these indy darlings back down the card

A lot of casuals love AJ Styles and Seth Rollins though :manny:

If you're talking about the Sami Zayn/Cesaro types then sure.

:mjlol:what... u talking like the WWE aint done what u just said from 05-2014 and decimated their casual crowd. only 1 dude on that list the public even knows and thats cena, at 6'1, he's considered 'small' by the wwe.

u talkin like reigns aint been anointed for the last 3 years... big white dude like u want, right? hows that working out

after the attitude era, the only 2 storylines that have gotten mainstream attention were from the small dudes u hate.. punk and bryan. which were then ruined by... u guessed it

Instead of them addressing the lack of interesting stories they will do some bullshyt like have SCSA their for a night if he will oblige or have Ric Flair show up or something. Or they might go to the classic "old school Raw" type deal. But Vince is going to do something to get ratings up that will just be a quick fix instead getting rid of these writers with generic ass storylines and fake ass promos.

I think a good show has both, variety is everything :ehh:

Problem is today it seems like every match is 15+ minutes with spots galore and near fall spam fest, and it gets boring real quick :russell:

I swear, id love to see WWE go back to the days of the atttitude era with the current crop of talent

One thing that hurts the product is when you cant curse to drive home a point during a fued.

PG-13 era:

Miz, this sunday Im gonna beat your white hollywood ass and then take your precious wife, Maryse, bend her over sideways and show her what a real man is all about!
(Crowd pop) :krs:

PG era:

Miz, this sunday, Im gonna take your precious little Intercontinental title away from you and the whole WWE Universe will see how much of a wussy you are live on the WWE Network.
*Cue music*
:beli:
it's too pg and corny for me....i miss the attitude era
