Oh aye one last thing @murksiderock

TELL THESE DUDES IN THE HEIGHTS TO STOP CLAIMING THEY’RE HAITIAN :russ: I think it’s insulting to Haitians tbh. Yes it’s South Sac Iraq but, the Heights has never been referred to as Haiti:stopitslime: If anything it’s been referred to as the Deepest Part of Hell

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
murder so u originally from sac

but u lived in like 10 states.

I notice u get around

Yep, born at Mercy in '89, originally lived in Fruitridge (at the time my grandma lived near Dewey Block), bounced around and lived in different spots in the South...

I'm a Northside brother though...

My dad born and raised in Sac, my mom got there in '81 but my grandma sisters been there since the 70s, originally from Arkansas and Louisiana...

Broken family background caused me to move around alot, plus my family was always travelers anyway. My mom spent her upbringing in Arkansas, Michigan, and Houston before she got to Sac High in the early 80s, so in a way it's almost like living in a bunch of places was predetermined, my mom's side has always been wanderers...

I been in a bunch of spots and got reacquainted with Sac as an adult, but for sure Sacramento is the roots, family!

South Sacramento
I came to the Sac area from San Bernardino, Denver & DC as youngin and I hated it. I've been here off and on almost 20 years and Its cool. Sac is chill, the weather is underrated and the crime has steadily gone down since the 90s. Only other place I'd rather be in California is San Diego.

I know y'all gone give it some bunk rating, so I'ma inflate mines 9

Sac is average to me. I'm usually passing through to get to Roseville or Rocklin to get to SMG or some of the shops.

It's a low-key chill city that you can relax in.
Stay off of Stockton Blvd though.

Black culture is kind of missing. But when shyt pops off, we show up.

Too hot in the summer. Where it's like 85 in Vallejo...it's fukkin 105 in Sac. Why??

Otherwise, solid 7.

Vallejo is literally on the bay. We’re in the valley:russ: All facts tho

Aren't you from Cincy originally? I missed that thread but what did you not like about it?

This is true to a point but of the many southerners and East Coasters I've known who have been to Sac, none of them had negativity to say about Sac. I've told people on here how one of my boys from Harlem loves Sac; I knew a chick from Boston who lived in Citrus Heights/Arden for like 9 years and loved it; etc...

Gotta leave Sacramento bruh, even if only temporarily (and by leave I mean spend time living in a different state). Californians are jaded and spoiled and judge Sacramento much harsher than anyone from anywhere else does...
Why do you hate Cincinnati?

It’s a shytty small city full of racism, black people don’t do that well in Cincinnati, it’s ugly, omg is it ugly, not much to do, bad weather, and not many opportunities. The food isn’t bad. A lot of my extended family lives there. I haven’t seen them in years. We only go to Cincinnati for funerals at this point.

Anybody got some history on West Sacramento? My mom said it was a predominantly black neighborhood when she was growing up there. This was back in the 50's/60's.

Fresno, Ca
I grew up listening to a lot of rappers from there, they have a great craft beer scene, has good food, and it’s the capital. It’s an easy drive from Fresno, so I give it an 8. Mostly because they have great beer.

One thing I didn’t see mentioned is Sac and West Sac. They’re 2 different cities. Think of Frisco and South Frisco.

I'm late as hell, sorry for the revival, but I miss this city. I lived here in 2014-2015. It offered the suburbs in the south and a city center for the urban dwellers. The transit was very efficient and easy to get around. You had a decent amount of foot traffic, a downtown, and old town for partying or eating. I lived in both South Sac and West Sac. West Sacramento was it's own city. I liked the river between West Sac and
South Sac. One of the last memories I have is 4th of July with boats and fireworks, and everyone gathered around on the bridge. I know it's probably not the best city, but coming from someone who lived in Palmdale for years, it was great.
