I don't get why people hate the second half of this show but I'm one of the people that like Light as a character so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

A lot of fan boys underrate the whole series because their favorite character died.

7/10. The first half of the anime is brilliant. The second half

The animation was excellent the whole way through so I still regard it highly.

Monster is in my top 5. I use to hear so many people talk about Death Note but no one ever gives Monster the respect it deserves. Death Note is a 8 for me just based off the first half being a 10. The second half is so trash that whenever I decide to rewatch the series, I stop before that point. I want to add a vote for Monster as well.

Actually rewatched this recently.

2nd half is still a drop off from the 1st. Near playing with toys, guessing his way to victory

Everyone is sloppier too, including Light.

Only real bad part of the first half was the Yotsuba Group and that was technically by design. That and Ray Penber's wife giving Light her real name for no reason other than to move the plot along
