Yesterday’s results:

One Piece: 7.48

For the fifth day of the rate that anime series we saw One Piece put up a lower bounty score of 7.48 placing it last place on our series.

On to day 5:

Rules:

1. The Coli will be rating over 50 anime’s.

2. You can rate the anime on a multitude of factors ( Quality, Storyline, amount of filler, animation, etc) BUT YOU MUST HAVE ONE OVERALL SCORE.

3. Users rate the anime on a scale of 1-10
(10 being :salute:king status, 1 being :pacspit:status)

4. The results of the poll will be displayed publicly.

5. Feel free to nominate any anime. The Coli has a 158 page Cosplay thread and multiple platinum anime thread topics so I know the demand is heavy here.

6. I can guarantee you this, despite the other rate..... threads, this one will be completed.

7. Time for votes will last for approximately 24 hours.

8. You can factor in non-Canon movies and arcs in your decision.

.9) Remember..........This is your decision.

10. The poll will be up for 24 hours only so make sure you get your votes in!

For day 6 we look at the psychological chess thriller Death Note.

The Truth
Honestly, i hated this anime. I actually preferred the live action movie even though it was just mediocre

imo... ill give it a 5 (but ill leave my vote open just in case people can show me more reasons as to why it should be higher).

I gave Death Note an 8. The first half is GOAT-tier for sure, but the series started falling off a little bit after...

L died.

L was THAT dude. :whew:

Agreed I really thought putting death note episode 1-25 as the anime to rate. But it’s still so good I had to go with 10.

7. Like everyone else said, the second half fell tf off. I actually have to watch again.
L :to:

I think what really made the first half so dope was the moral ambiguity. I'm all for stories about good vs. evil, but Death Note was definitely a story that worked better because of the difference in philosophy between the characters. Cats could have legit philosophical debate over who was really in the right between Light and L, and their back and forth cat-and-mouse game was :wow:

Who was more in the right? The guy who wants to create utopia through questionable means even though he has good intentions?
Or the police who are out to catch him even though this same dude they're trying to catch could possibly make their lives easier? And are the police secretly shady themselves?

After L died and they made Light into this super-obvious mustache twirling supervillain near the end...

...they lost all of the moral ambiguity in that second half that kept the series interesting.

It doesn't help that Mello and Near were swagless compared to L IMO.
