That's all well and good but the thread title says "Rappers who would have been legends..."

None of the people listed would have been legends. Warren G is not a legend.

I know what the thread title says, I'm talkin' about certain posts within the thread.

It's hard to call who would or wouldn't have been what back then... for one, they prob. wouldn't rap or make music the same anyway, cause it was a different time. It's almost like askin' where you would be in life right now if you had been born 15 years earlier... how the hell could you know that

Is there any post-90s rapper who you think have original style?

most of these rappers bite a rapper.

thinking, no one has listened to the records to know, better

so in general,...no.

most of them are inferior slug.

emo wack to jay or nas biter wack, and anyone inbetween.

most rappers missed out on emo and atmosphere.

then try to act prolific because they think they are fooling someone.

you can not fool me,....i have probably heard the history of rap.

i been buying ten to twenlve incher's since queen another one bites the dust.

i even own double dutch bus from 82,..when i was five in kindergarten rocking a wind up fisher price record player.

you can not fool me,...as most of these rappers they bite are my direct touring contemporaries.

or dudes who were inferior to ju on the wake up with major deals.

scared out in cali cause he a crip gang leader.

or him and c murder was homeys.

or even better, i heard a lot of unsigned rappers because scoop lived upstairs from my former bestfriend too.

or i would get a box of cd's like every month of shyt i would never buy from my next door neighbor.

who was the a&r who did janet jackson, rhythm nation and control.

so naw,..it ain't to many rappers who are trying to be dope.
they are just offkey emo induced amateurs lacking convincability trying to revenue grab.

what is funny is nikkaz ignore juice and i know for a fact,..

me and dude were the second highest drawing underground act after atmosphere.

so if you are trying to be a rapper from a grassroots level.

then don't even know.

nor are familiar with the competition.

then you already laucedt' like all these losers have.

nikkaz are hoping to get payola.

as, rappers with all the resources to make it.

while, using none of the resources accurately or profoundly.

they not even really getting paid for underground shows or biters.

shyt is a damn joke.......

I tend to agree with that. I also think there were only a handful of original rock bands after 1979.

But, there was still good rock music being made. So being original isn't everything. :manny:

there is no real thing as an original rock band.

plus the rock culture is created from abstracting.

or, directly making sonic deviations of blues.

yet, inherently and lyrically rock is blues.

rock's entire culture is predicated on blues, or acting like it never existed.

then trying to use it on the low.

all pop music has no culture and is a lift of black music.

that is why pop tries to maintain no, governing culture.

to take advantage of subcultural and cultural phenomenon.

hiphop has a real culture,..that has business modules from the four pillars.

where collectively the business modules.

used to be governed by righting, the wrongs of the disco era socially and business wise.

those precepts were ignored from top to bottom after puff.

before that, the business of rap had its cultural protection mechanism intact.

so eventually if left untampered a culture stealer would be eliminated.

once payola or pr started to wane and the culture could have its say.

that was effectively done away with..

thus leaving rap in the same bin that ruined the economic viability of:

breaking
dj'n
graf

so now,..no pillars have an operable business module.

that can effectively swing a profit for someone who rocks real.

part of the problem with rap is.

culturally, you do not have to be apart of hiphop to rap.

the other issue is a lot of people in rap are not from the culture.

plus have no background in another pillar.

which would give them the wherewithal of the consequences of their sellout/culture thievery like acts.

those two never made great music.

they were platinum payola associated artist to larger drawing revenue grab labels.

i can't name off the top my head.

one great actual submission from either of them.

both their careers were made from applying payola and pr.

to artist whom already were consistent selling artists.

where both were attached and had sells from a heavily publicized association.

to artist who already posted a profitable return.

both were two of the wackest rappers in history.

where the actual label of emcee.

would and should never be associated with them.

only people praising them were gateway rap fans.

swayed by mtv propaganda and over publicized connecting pr to proven draws in the marketplace.

both were artist who got to prey on damaged cultural protection mechanisms in the business of rap.

which were the prelude of the impending doom of over saturated wackness.

that we are all plagued by in 2o12.

How the fukk was Silkk going platinum in a month a product of payola and pr when his songs rarely even got tv/radio play outside of It Aint My Fault?

And to say Warren G never made any good songs is just :skip:..Regulate and This DJ are two of the better songs from the G-Funk era.

exactly. no limit was a glorified indie. they dropped like 10 albums per quarter but usually only put real scratch behind one song at a time.

and yea, "charge it 2 da game" was moving units before "it aint my fault" even dropped. these dudes kill me with this payola chit trying to downplay no limit.

lol @ warren g not making great songs.

you was just programmed by how much regulate came on mtv.

i already lived mtv oversaturation.

aa early as from dire straits, to rock box and ghetto b*stard.

warren g is fukk'n awful on regulate,.you just fell for the okey doke.

only decent record he was on was slick rick and even then a csrtton vid covered up that wack shyt, too.

don't believe me,..i got the accapella to the slick rick feature record wih him on it....try sitting through that shyt.

i bet it won't be as fun as kool g rap's operation cb accapella.

also,...i have heard all of no limit's roster get embarrassed by juice.

when ju flew himself down there in defiance of p trying to foot a bill for his travel, food & stay.

i wish i had that shyt and could up it,...so you could hear what a real emcee sound like on that no limit shyt.

juice from finer things[unreleased juice]

flyin myself to label meetings and battles for fun,...
two million records sold[summer time]

I guess there's no such thing as original jazz either because it's blues based as well.

And there's no such thing as original blues either because it's based on slave "spirituals."

Both created in the same way rock was created from R&B, which was created from blues.

And so on and so forth...
