Beastie Boys
NWA
KRS
Buckshot and all them
Nore
Cormega
Lil Kim
Kurupt
Bun B
Big Sean

Respect and love to all them, but yeah…musically? Nah, outside of Nore’s 1st album I never really loved loved anything from any of them, body of work wise or pen wise, 🤷🏽‍♂️…and I’ve tried. Just wasn’t my twist. Nah, I loved loved “Beautiful Mind” by Mega…that’s just 1 record tho, lol 🤷🏽‍♂️

I can understand some of the names. The others, I wouldn’t admit that as a supposed rap fan

E-40 for me too. I'm 37 but when he'd show up I just thought he was making words up to rhyme. I know it's bay slang now but been a mixtape kid from NYC I just thought he was making ish up at the time.

E-40 ruined Bay Area hip hop in the 2000s because of his own ego and greed, and pushed the region back by a decade. You had the New Bay movement which was actually dope rappers. They had bars and rhythm. Then there was Hyphy which as all about being hype. E-40 jumped on the Hyphy wave and tried to go national with it, and he completely derailed the New Bay movement, while Hyphy itself was never going to have longevity.

From the outsider perspective, Bay Area rap looked like some clowns. In reality, Northern California as a whole probably had the most diverse rap scene between the 90s and 2000s. You had Horrorcore, Hyphy, Battle rap, Mob music, Bloods, Crips, Nortenos, etc.

What I'm saying. I'd hear e40 and assumed that was northern Cali. I know I'm wrong now but we talking back to 03. Was just a young nikka being like wtf.

J Cole - The most generic rapper I've ever heard. As "by the numbers" and bland as it gets.

Roc Marci - He's underground but has a dedicated fan base on here. One of the most garbage rappers I've ever heard. His verse on Banks' album a few years ago was horrific. I would rather listen to Silkk than him. That off beat flow is TRASH.

E-40 - Already been covered.

Mystikal - Strictly speaking as a rapper, while unique, I always thought he was buns. Just a lot of rambling and yelling.

Meek is up there for me and this not one of those now that he washed and exposed as a batty boi we gon revisionism shyt I been said it while he was at his peak popularity too

Same delivery, mediocre lyricism, annoyin ass yellin that made me think this nikka was autistic for longest time till I got proven right, albums all mid or aight and most importantly besides D&N damn near all his best songs cause of the features and he just on that shyt chillin and shown up and made a background vocal

Jump Out The Face - Future
Ima Boss - Ross
RICO - Aubrey
We Ball - Thug
Litty - Tory
Going Bad - Aubrey
Burn - Sean
Offended - Thug, 21
Tic Tac Toe - Kodak
All Eyes On You - Breezy, Nicki
Hot - Moneybagg
Blue Notes 2 - Uzi
Dangerous - Jeremih, PNB
Uptown Vibes - Anuel, Fab
Pay You Back - 21

This nikka a footnote in every one of these tracks that "his" and 15 of "his" best and biggest songs but he got washed badly and forgettable. Some nikka gon mention some deep cut off those mid Dreamchaser tapes that got em through 9-5 grinds but nah Meek trash

I hear you. Me, I just like being honest/objective, I literally couldn’t care less how I look or sound to someone if I’m being honest, 🤷🏽‍♂️.

They all mid to my ears champ…at best. I know the NWA one is crazy I guess, 🤷🏽‍♂️, nigs was ify…not to mention wild destructive to the community…but that’s another discussion. Cube Top 10 ever for me tho, that ain’t changing.
