This album was like "how come I'm not in on the joke" it got so much praise and I couldn't and still cannot figure out why. Hell I still can't figure out how and why Kanye became this so-called genius. His music has always been spotty to me. I was 31 when that garbage dropped, so I still had my "hip-hop ears" and my ears told me to turn it off. Kanye is truly one of the most overrated rappers/producers of all-time. He's terrible

Cant say that cause commercially it wasnt at its peak yet. Highest sellign non-double rap albums are mostly in the shady/aftermath era
:stopitslime:

So then you need to specify "commercial peak" which has absolutely nothing to do with Rap Musics actual peak which was the 90's. You obviously weren't around in the 80's and 90's if you're dying on this hill that rap music peaked with that Kanye album. Nas said Hip Hop was dead 4 years prior but you think otherwise.

No but it was arguably the greatest album rollout of all time. The GOOD Friday releases, the other leaks, the rumors, the fukkery, the awards show performance, the visuals....it was immaculate.

I'ma catch flack for this but So Appalled is up to par with if not better than almost every posse cut your 'hip hop' ears have heard
Nah it's not even close in my opinion. Just a bunch of over-produced noise like 99 percent of his music after College Dropout.
