Rap music peaked in the 90s & it ain't close
that all feeds into what I am saying about how it peaked then. The rollout/anticipation of the album combined with how it lived up to the hype. Unmatched.theres definitely an argument that GKMC is better. i dont agree with the rap music peak statement, more so that the MBDTF era was the last time i was super excited about the rap game. the good friday drops leading into MBDTF is probably the GOAT album run ever.
Cant say that cause commercially it wasnt at its peak yet. Highest sellign non-double rap albums are mostly in the shady/aftermath eraRap music peaked in the 90s & it ain't close
you get it. nobody is saying its the goat album, its up there but it isnt my favourite. It's probably like number 7 in my top 10 which features all 90s albums outside of Get Rich or Die Trying and Diplomatic Immunity. Might add Watch the Throne tooYou got people in here saying it was a bad album lmao What album did y'all listen to. The album Including the Good Friday Series and Watch the Throne is Peak rap
I'ma catch flack for this but So Appalled is up to par with if not better than almost every posse cut your 'hip hop' ears have heardThis album was like "how come I'm not in on the joke" it got so much praise and I couldn't and still cannot figure out why. Hell I still can't figure out how and why Kanye became this so-called genius. His music has always been spotty to me. I was 31 when that garbage dropped, so I still had my "hip-hop ears" and my ears told me to turn it off. Kanye is truly one of the most overrated rappers/producers of all-time. He's terrible
Anything post 50 Cent's run isn't really hip hop imo. When Kanye outsold 50, hip hop basically stopped existing.
Stop spending so much time around cacs. Go relisten to classic 90s album and come back. MBDTF ain’t even Ye’s best project.
