I have that problem with black construction/handymen when I’m giving them easy money to do a project at the house trying to help their business and nobody return calls, show up when they supposed to , respond to emails and text messages

And then I call a Hispanic or white company and have to pay them for a job when u had easy money

The fact that you knew that they were a "Black Owned Business" was part of the problem

Any good business worth it's salt isn't promoted on a gimmick. If the most important thing about a business is the race of it's owners, then it's not a good business to begin with

But I will always support an entity that promotes itself as a Business first that just happens to have Black owners
it's not a gimmick unless it is used like one stop the madness.

you know asian restaurants and all other type of ethnic businesses. they wear their shyt on their sleeve. yesterday I was in a regular coffee shop promoted as japanese breakfast place. had regular ass sandwiches and breakfast food from the west. coffee and tea. nothing Japanese but the workers.

nobody even think about that shyt broadly unless it's Black because they view it as racial first rather than ethnic.

A lot of posters on here are touching on something more important. Professionalism amongst brehs or the lack of it..

It's definitely not universal but it is infuriating when you come across it.

There's a tiny soul food spot right around the corner that absolutely hits, above all the other soul food spots.

Problem?

They're not open on Sundays(wtf kinda sense does this make), they don't allow you to call and make an order and pay when you show up.
Either you gotta use credit over the phone or go to the spot, pay cash and then wait for your food to be made(15-20 mins).
The workers at the front are disinterested and make you feel like a bother to be there.

Just little simple choices that works against their continued growth and expansion.

Meanwhile, I see a huge soulfood spot with frankly, subpar food packed to the gills every Sunday because they've made sure to be fully staffed and professional with everything they do.

People want the best but they'll settle for convenient damn near every time.

In the last 2 months I've deliberately tried to switch over to black owned businesses for a couple of things; in finance and as vendors.

I'd say 1 out of the 4 places actually cared about me giving them my business. I was sure to email, call, and tried to be pretty laid back about them not getting back to me.
When they did get back to me, they were mostly apathetic to my inquiries or moving forward with getting started; like they didn't give a shyt if I dropped several stacks or not.

The same services and vendors from cacs were getting back to me literally in hours and following up on if I had any questions or what I may need from them to stay on board. I didn't respond to them cause I was waiting, in some cases, for DAYS from their black competitors.

This shyt pisses me the fukk off. Brehs are losing money cause they can't fukking respond to an email or act interested in ANOTHER breh GIVING them money because they're black owned. Part of me gets even more annoyed because I, irrationally, believe that if I was a cac on some "I'm an ally of the community" shyt, I'd get better service. I know this thread could have been a coli thoughts post....but I can't be the only one who experiences or feels this, right?

Quick response time seriously increases your close rate in every single kind of sales. This is also true with support issues in SaaS.

Above the fray.

I can sense that the frustration is still there. Once that's done, you might have time to reflect on a few things.

You should screen all businesses that you do transactions with. Doing that would have put a set of high functioning/well recommended Black businesses to select from.

Cold calling, or cold sending inquiries to Black businesses is not it. Black owned doesn't tell you the level of competence or customer service . Screening would give you some idea.

Again, sorry about your frustrating experience.

I don't have this kind of experience because I have a low tolerance for bullsh*t. Plenty of businesses offering the same services/goods at the same price point. Will just go to another one instead.

It's not a black business issue. It's just a bad business issue.

Mf's will bytch and complain waiting 10-15 minutes at a black business but wait 45 to an hour at a white one.

Is it a "black business" problem or that particular business problem? Cause the problem is yall act like black business owners are all connected and if one fukked you over that it is indicative of all.
Glad I'm not the only one seeing this....not really surprised about it here in tlr though.
