....
In the last 2 months I've deliberately tried to switch over to black owned businesses for a couple of things; in finance and as vendors.

I'd say 1 out of the 4 places actually cared about me giving them my business. I was sure to email, call, and tried to be pretty laid back about them not getting back to me.
When they did get back to me, they were mostly apathetic to my inquiries or moving forward with getting started; like they didn't give a shyt if I dropped several stacks or not.

The same services and vendors from cacs were getting back to me literally in hours and following up on if I had any questions or what I may need from them to stay on board. I didn't respond to them cause I was waiting, in some cases, for DAYS from their black competitors.

This shyt pisses me the fukk off. Brehs are losing money cause they can't fukking respond to an email or act interested in ANOTHER breh GIVING them money because they're black owned. Part of me gets even more annoyed because I, irrationally, believe that if I was a cac on some "I'm an ally of the community" shyt, I'd get better service. I know this thread could have been a coli thoughts post....but I can't be the only one who experiences or feels this, right?
I’m starting to think we value friendship and connection over money. That’s why if you’re not familiar to a lot of these business owners you get bad service.

I agree. I don't care if you look like me or not, if you offer me shytty service then fukk you and your business.

I used to go two places regularly that I just had to stop going to because they just don't know the basics of dealing with a customer and sometimes rude and dismissive for no reason at all, despite going there for a long time. Its like, when you have to serve somebody, at the very least make eye contact and ask how may I help you. Dont stare in somebody's face and wait until they make an order for you to move. When I had enough I simply stopped fukking with them altogether. But surprise, surprise when they serve white customers they're certainly know to flash a smile then.

The sad thing is, the most local black business to me offered STELLAR customer service and even though they were a little more pricey, I still went out my way to support them. They should have been way more successful than they were. Sadly they had to shut down for good during the pandemic because they were struggling and now there's some Greek restaurant in their place.

If you don't make any effort and act like you're doing ME a favor, then adios.

I feel you but I can't complain about it :wow:..cacs got 500+years of experience running business...how much we got ?

Maybe start a business helping businesses do better..like a business fixer..like Gordon ramsay fixing your kitchen
Once again, our lower standards are excused, and we need our hands held to do something. We see everyone else doing something, and instead of doing it, we purposely don’t do it, and complain about the system.

Is it a "black business" problem or that particular business problem? Cause the problem is yall act like black business owners are all connected and if one fukked you over that it is indicative of all.
It’s just that we don’t have a plethora of black businesses to choose from in every industry. So when we find one, we want to use it, but they end up fukking up. This isn’t always the case, but it happens enough that it’s noticeable. And don’t act like we don’t have a habit of not starting on time, and not having our shyt together. I recently got into herbalism. I’ve ordered twice from a black owned shop. It’s taken 6 weeks for the herbs to get here. I could have ordered from Amazon, or Mountain Rose Herbs, and gotten the package sooner. As much as we want to support our own, we shouldn’t have to settle for bad customer service. Our money is valuable.

100 true.

I think it’s weak sample size. There are thousands of white businesses that we patronize but maybe a handful of black businesses.

If we have a bad experience at a white businesses we don’t write off all white businesses because we had good experiences with the others.

If we have a bad experience with a black business we write off all black business because we have fewer total experiences with black business.

The problem isnt criticism, its the way we do it. We need a better filtering system cause labelling bad experiences as a "we" or "black" problem is creating a stigma that drags down all of us(this isnt just limited bad businesses).

We have to create a system that filters out the bad and props up the good, cause the current one harms all businesses(regardless of quality).

That’s the thing about business you don’t see these Indian or Arab business act like this.
They not trying to get arab or indian dollars though, they want everyones money. People here act like black businesses should cater specifically to black consumers. When they don’t they complain about them. When they do, nobody else shops there
