I'll reply more in depth later but what has Payne dropped in 2020 breh? I wanna catch up. I haven't checked for RJ in like 18 months.

If Cocaine Could Talk 3 - Nov 18th, 2019
If Cocaine Could Talk 4 - Jan 8th, 2019
If Cocaine Could Talk 5 - March 15th, 2019
The Elohim - April 16th, 2019
Leatherface - May 21st, 2019
Square Root of a Kilo - Aug 23rd, 2019
Leatherface 2 - Oct 30th, 2019

He's A fukkin Animal - July 31st, 2020
Beautiful Payne - Oct 5th, 2020

most of these put any Ransom work to shame and Ran is my guy but Director's Cut series aint fukkin with ICCT series whatsoever :mjlol:

but again, its because of the production...Ran has always suffered in that department and even though the Craven stuff may be more palatable than his previous works, it has depth and feels cheap sonically and lazy af. Craven aint that damn good. If you gonna go that route, Apollo Brown is levels above. Or just get Roc Marci who Craven bit off of.

imo, if this were boxing....Ran would be #1 contender to Payne's title.

Ransom attacks every track the same I can’t really listen to dude

he’s nice tho

this is due to the "production" he just picking loops and spitting over them, would be just as fire as if someone gave him some mellow jazz to spit over. a producer is the person who arranges the song and is involved in the entire song process, not just a beatmaker or worse, someone who makes loops and says here ya go. Craven said he sent Ransom over 300 of these to choose from...should tell you about his process. sorry, going against the grain in this thread because more in here going nuts over this than the few that are not. I only listened to the projects twice at the most. As dope as lyrics are, replay aint there...its too much other shyt out to get my head noddin. Cray when you compare that Flee Lord, a much lesser lyricist is dropping projects every month with HIGH level production and Havoc produced joint coming up. just my opinion, still daps for everyone in here supporting Ran as a lyricist.

I still haven’t peeped any of Ransom’s music. :mjcry:

ok, there is PLENTY on DSP's and DatPiff. most of his catalogue is streaming. I made a playlist of him and Stack Bundles...they were a great combo...I am sure they wouldve done an album had Stack been around. He has gotten more seasoned with age though. He appears on many works from KGR, 38 Spesh, Buckwild, Che Noir, Gibbs, Cassidy, Tsu Surf, Rigz, Statik, V Don, etc....

I have a play list on Tidal with 23 Ran songs (none from Director's Cut) I can create on Spotify if its easier for yall to get on, let me know.

As a matter of fact, I may put together a Versuz style playlist of Payne vs Ran :jbhmm:

Only gripe after sitting with this for a day and a half is there’s too much moaning in the Shocker beat. Never thought I’d say this but in this one case a female moaning gets tiresome quickly.

@surv2syn I've had Square Root of a Kilo and If Cocaine Could Talk 3 by RJ Payne

But I just listened to Beautiful Payne...:wow: there's wisdom on this that I either missed on those projects (and Leatherface) or it just wasn't there.

This EP is wonderful. Already going into my playlist for projects of 2020 and I'm only 2/3rds of the way through.

Daps and reps.

All of his projects were good and I really like Square Root, that was when he was unofficially with B$F

This is way better than any of his Directors Cut. This is fire. A shame it’s so short.

you think so? I dont remember which I liked best because they all seemed the same to me. will listen to them all again. seems like the 2nd or the 3rd stood out more.

Yea, I like Benny, but he’s boring as fukk. He has zero charisma on the mic.

Ransom > Benny

better as far as raw lyricism but he is pretty robotic and doesnt have any wrinkles...but Benny is charismatic and he says funny shyt. there are a lot of rappers better than Jay, but its not just his lyrics that make him complete. I didnt have this opinion until recently either but Con is better than Benny too if you talking versatility and raw lyrics...Benny still way more charismatic and commanding. He has more of the "it" factor"
