The 2nd part where he discusses designated rest days being decided before the season is eye opening.

We all knew it but the media is starting to confirm it now

Which was completely dumb on his part to say out loud as all it does is open's up pandoras box and opens the league and teams for scrutiny from fans and sportsbook. That means that they were manipulating fans into purchasing tickets at full price knowing well advance the days that players were going to be out on rest days.

Sounds like a lawsuit to me.

Sure but technically you’re paying to see teams and not players. It’s like how WWE may use certain stars to advertise a show but always put in the fine print on the ticket “Card subject to change”

A fan tried to sue the Spurs years ago over it but the judge threw it out. Maybe now it would be more successful, who knows

True, but the difference is that WWE isn’t promoting matches months in advance as the NBA does. We’re talking about potential games as scheduled months in advance the team and player already know that they aren’t playing.
Unless they’re tipping off sports in advance, they’re fukking with betting lines by doing it which is messing with a lot of people’s money. That would even piss off ESPN and TNT as well if players out on said rest which was known in advance especially with the money the league is asking for coming up.

Those networks already are on Silver’s case about load management issues which is why you hear talk of the in season tournament. CJ’s comments were the last thing that needed to be said out loud.
