I wasn't around back then so I dont know what was actually felt at the time but I do know people to this that day joke and talk about Bird playing no defense whenever they have GOAT discussions. But I look at the records and he made All NBA D at least 3 times, and got a lot of steals and judging highlights clearly had all time elite anticipatory skills on both sides of the ball. So was the creh a good defender or no??
I’m on record for player empowerment. I don’t give a fukk how these players hold these rich white owners over the barrel as long as they get what they want in the end.
I would just caution how you utilize whatever leverage you have so that it doesn’t come back to haunt you.
Lebron, whatever you want to say about him, always utilized his leverage wisely.
KD, no matter how you feel about him joining the Warriors, utlized his leverage wisely.
Anthony Davis and Rich Paul got him the fukk outta New Orleans on some grown man business shyt. Utilizing his leverage wisely
Kawhi was misdiagnosed and told the Spurs to kiss his ass. But he was wise in keeping his mouth shut and going through back channels until he got what he wanted.
Harden all up in the strip clubs during a national pandemic with no mask on doesn’t feel like utilizing leverage wisely. It makes him look more like a child throwing a tantrum and doing the things his parents explicably told him NOT to do until they acquiesce and give him the Ice Cream and Candy he’s demanding.
