We lost in the first round in a COVID riddled shortened seasoned that had the entire league looking wonky and we lost to the eventual champions. The Heat had to postpone multiple games because COVID ravaged the team and we didn’t have s enough players to suit up.
You already stated that contending teams can get knocked out early in the playoffs if they’ve played other contending teams so 2021 means nothing.
The Warriors didn’t even make the playoffs that season.

I’ve been right. The Jimmy led Heat have been contenders since the Bubble and there was nothing fake about what they showed, same as the Nuggets. 3 ECF since I made that statement so where was I wrong?

Yes, the Heat are a good team. I haven't said anything to the contrary that would state otherwise, however, the difference here is, I do not think they're as good as you've tried to convince everyone of over recent years. Especially since you haven't had the same energy for the last two postseasons that you're having right now. Getting swept in any round pretty much rules a team out of being a contender, and that's why they weren't in 2021. It's not about them losing that series, it's about how they lost. I don't think they were in 2020 either, it's just the conditions that allowed them to get to the Finals were unforeseen, hence why they didn't even win a playoff game the following year when it was under a normal playoff setting.

I was hyping them up last year as the final stage of their current iteration. I thought that would be their last chance with this group, so it's not as if I've taken a hard stance against them being a contender, I just don't think they've been a contender every season like you claim they have. You can believe whatever you want as a fan, but it doesn't make it true just because you want them to be.
And as it stands right now, I still wouldn't classify them as a contender this season. That doesn't mean they can't be as we get deeper into this series and whatever happens in the Finals.
