I think it’s less about Mitchell and more about if they can continue shooting like this for an entire playoffs. Even with Mitchell going for 50 multiple times they couldn’t beat Denver after holding a 3-1 lead.

They’re basically the only good team that hasn’t been hit by injuries/Covid also. I can’t fully buy them as contenders yet, especially with Quinn Snyder coaching.

Out of all the teams with a reasonable chance to win it all, The Jazz are seriously lacking in perimeter defense. When the games get physical I’m not sure how that plays out. Asking Royce O’Neal to guard Kawhi, Bron & PG is a lot and that’s there best option on defense. Ben scored 40+ last night and everybody knows what he’s trying to do time in & time out.

It’s going to be a big concern

This is issue #1. They have no wing defenders. O Neal tries hard but hes like 6'4". You need multiple guys that you can throw at Kawhi, bron etc.. jazz are gonna have to depend on ingles....which might work.on PG

I dont trust them to score enough deep in the playoffs either

I’ve watched Doc for years and approaching the half way mark of this season I’m confident in saying Lu has already proven himself a better coach than Doc. I can see him running a PG, Kawhi & Morris rotation when Utah goes with Conley & Mitchell. Somebody tiny is getting worked in the post for pull-ups or swing action when the double comes.

We’ve just seen this story before where a team overachieves in the regular season but doesn’t any top 10 guys to cave in your world when time comes
