THIS. I've been saying this since last season.

Lonzo, Bledsoe, Ingram, and Stevens are ALL supposed to be above-average defenders. Zion is strong and quick as fukk. Stan van Gundy has coached eight top-10 defenses in his 11 seasons as a head coach. And yet the Pels are damn near last in the NBA in defense. THAT is the problem with the team above all else.

New Orleans really bout to miss these play-in games on consecutive seasons...

Brehs, why do you guys continue saying what steph is doing is amazing by willing his team to a play in spot? In my opinion they underachieved, you can’t tell me a team like the griz with a 2nd yr player and valencuncias has is his 2nd best player is better than steph, wiggins, oubre and dray.

I love steph, he playing godly and getting his numbers but he ain’t helping his team, obviously this team is not a contender but they should at the very least be better than the griz, spurs and mavs.

They’re exactly where people thought they would be this season. Well at me from my prospective.

Dray is washed offensively and last year wasn’t an outlier. There was a reason why Minny had to give up a first to offload Wiggins contract while taking on the longer deal. Also, don’t forget that Oubre is incredibly inconsistent and didn’t put much stock in those Phoenix years. Even they didn’t want to drop the bag for him.

Couple that with a thin bench because of poor lack of training and talent development along with the Klay injury, you’re in the situation that you are now. That’s why none of the guys in last years draft fit the timeline. It’s also why Wiseman is gone after this season and being packaged with the Minny pick.

Which speaks volumes about every player on that roster and Stan himself. We’re literally on talking about the 9th and 10th seed to qualify for the play-in. That’s not asking much for that team. Even Washington is worse defensively, yet they’re tied for the last play-in spot with Chicago.

People can make all the excuses they want, but the bar has been lowered even more to get in. If you can’t make it in, then you deserve to get clowned.

Have you watched GSW this season? Oubre has been a huge disappointment, Dray looking like super scrub, and the rest of that roster is G-League status.
