The important part of the statement (taking out the shyt-posting) is basically right. People don't say that Bird was a bad defender compared to other forwards of his day. He got burned by elite scorers but so did the average player (that's why they're elite scorers), he wasn't a liability at his position like Magic. I've only heard him get compared negatively to other greats who could lock people up. He didn't have the man defense ability of MJ, Duncan, KG, Kobe, or Bron, but he played defense and was a good help defender.
