I agree with all that. I just know for me that when I'm deciding on top players in the league, my mindset is if I'm starting a team from scratch who would I choose. Draymond to me would be really high up in who I'd want as the number 2 or 3 player on my team because of his versatility and how great he is on defense. But I have a hard time putting him over players who offensively have teams gameplanning to stop them which would make it hard to put him in my top 15-20.
But how many players can you win a ring with if they're the #1?
There's less than 10 guys who I could say, "I would build a championship team around THAT player as the undisputed #1."
But there's way more guys who you could say, "That could be my top scorer on an ensemble team if he had lots of other pieces around him."
So do you pick a Kemba or a Towns or a Donovan Mitchell before you pick Draymond just because they can be a #1 scorer? Because I doubt you're going far with Kemba or Towns or Donovan Mitchell as your #1 scorer unless you have some dominant pieces like Draymond to fill out the team.
He's at the very least a top 20-30 most-desired player in the league no matter how you cut it. And I can see a strong case for being around top 15-16.
Remember, in order to make Draymond "not top 30", that one kid with the pink font had to include Carmelo and IT over him.
He also had Blake, Beal, Bradley, McCollum, Jokic, Gobert, Gasol, Wall, Towns, Lowry, Conley, Cousins, Hayward, Derozen, Klay, and Butler over him. Even if you take half those guys over Draymond, that would still leave him as top-20.
