Poeltl is becoming a pretty good big

Raps need to move val.

Poeltl is "better" in terms of doing things thst win you games.

Light years better at rotating, way better defender overall, better shotblocker, doesn't stop the ball and is effecient.

Just needs to keep getting stronger

Poeltl is way more developed in 2 years than JV has been for his whole career.

The only thing is there is no market for JV

Ahh gotcha, that makes sense. I agree, on ball defenders like Kawhi and Avery Bradley definitely don't have the impact as anchors such as Draymond and Gobert. It does feel as tho on ball defense is probably the most overrated aspect of judging defensive impact by most fans and media members. I think it's probably what played a huge role in Kobe having so many All Defensive Team Awards.

Before I understood this, I remember asking Jeremias Engleman (the creator of RPM) why Avery Bradley had low DRPM a few years ago. It makes a lot more sense to me these days.

The part that's crazy is that when you tagged as good defender you are always rated highly at that no matter what your actual play reveals.

So many media member still speak of Lebron as if he is this great defender.

Exactly.

It most certainly isn't, which is what I've been trying to tell a lot of dudes on this board who argued otherwise. The Spurs defense isn't better without him, but it'll continue to be a great defense when he's not playing (they've ranked in the top-3 without him - top-2 this season) simply because his defensive role on the team doesn't have that sort of impact.

This is so real.

That reputation sticks with you forever. You could say the same thing for CP3.

Funny thing is sometimes you only have to look the part like Westbrook.
