@Gil Scott-Heroin am I buggin' thinking Hibbert might get abused in pick and rolls out west? It's one thing sagging into the paint when Kyrie was the only PG in the east who could shoot. Now he's gonna be helping on Curry, Paul, Lillard, Westbrook, Harden, Conley, Parker/Mills and Rondo (:raylol.

The problem I see with the Lakers trying to replicate this -

is that they don't have the personnel to force players into midrange shots in a controlled manner. Hibbert benefitted from a slow pace while only playing 25-30 minutes in Indiana -- playing faster, more minutes and with less defensive help is gonna be problematic for him to remain effective on that end -- to the point where like you said, how the hell is he gonna stop the best guards in the league on a nightly basis.

I mean it's not like 'Angelo is gonna ease the pressure. Or Bass. Or Randle. Or Kobe. Or Young.

I agree he won't be able to propel the Lakers to being a solid defensive squad but I will say that it's better for them to have him than nobody.

That's a given, Melo had the best year of his career playing the four.

I started watching this also. So glad Sam Mitchell is coaching again, this team is talented enough to have a good defensive identity so hopefully Sam can help them with that
