I'm going to assume bird has another coach in mind he feels will work better

Otherwise I don't see why he won't resign Vogel who took a team a lot of people felt would miss the playoffs to the post season.
Seems they're deadset on wanting a high powered offense from reports. Makes no sense considering they haven't really provided him with a lot of offensive weapons. Vogel is a great coach but seems more of a defensive coach.

Same ridiculous direction the bulls wanted to take

Thibs said something important during his press conference for the wolves, you can't run a golden state type of offense without the necessary pieces. You have to create a offense beneficial to the type of roster you have. Everybody want to run and gun like the warriors but don't have a klay and curry to make that work.

Exactly. It doesn't matter what system you are in or how fast you play, if you don't have the players it's not gonna work. I realize that the Warriors are changing the paradigm but you can still win with a defensive coach if you give him the right players. The key to the Warriors success is actually their defense. Otherwise they would just be another PHX or SAC from the past that scored a lot of points but couldn't get stops when they needed them.

That's exactly right, the key for the Warriors is defense. Its good to have a high scoring offense, but that defense will turn around and give you easier points on the other end.

looks like the NBA is waiting to announce curry as the mvp until he's ready to play.

If the warriors sweep the blazers then curry will receive his MVP in game 1 of the conference finals vs the thunder.

If by some miracle the blazers win game 3 or 4 curry will receive his mvp award in game 5.

Not to mention Westbrook would also be in top 5 with his PER and would have one of the highest usage rates as well. Not sure how you can expect someone to be able to put up their best possible stats while playing with another top 5 player.
He already has one of the highest if not the highest usage ratings in the league. shyt would be absurd if he had anymore.

Lowkey shot at GarPax, but I have even more respect for Thibs because of his take the highroad approach and not air out dirty laundry about the franchise because of his ugly divorce with them. I know he is going to do well in Minnesota because he has some nice pieces with Towns, Wiggins, Lavine, and Rubio. All those players can defend.
