@Gil Scott-Heroin
I remember you downplaying Shaq's importance during that Miami chip in 05.

First of all you're a remedial ass nikka. Second of all, at no point did you ever argue that Shaq's ability to keep a man on him down low helped Wade out (on drives) - which is something that i) I wouldn't argue against ii) really doesn't mean shyt in the grand scheme of things. Third of all, that point was not what your argument was built on - you made it seem as though Shaq was the reason the Heat won a title. You know what's funny about Scalabrine bringing up the fact that Wade benefited from getting to the rim playing next to Shaq is this:
2005 playing next to Shaq - 9.9 free throw attempts in 38 minutes
2006 playing next to Shaq - 10.7 free throw attempts in 38 minutes
2007
without Shaq (both were injured at different times) - 10.5 free throw attempts in 38 minutes
2008 playing next to Shaq (who only played 33 games prior to being traded to Phoenix) - 9.2 free throw attempts in 38 minutes
2009
without Shaq - 9.8 free throw attempts in 38 minutes
2010
without Shaq - 9.1 free throw attempts without Shaq in 36 minutes
Scalabrine's point about Wade going to the basket "over and over and over again" because big men wouldn't leave Shaq unguarded, as it wasn't the same as when Zo was on the floor is fundamentally wrong. Wade got to the basket at relatively the same rate playing with Joel Anthony and Jermaine O'Neal, as he did playing with Shaq.
The most telling stat of all this was during the 2006 Finals when Wade averaged 16 free throws a game - where he averaged EIGHT more minutes than Shaq did. Game 6 he had 21 free throw attempts and was getting to the rim at will over the course of 45 minutes (averaging 34 points a game) - Shaq only played 30 minutes that game and only averaged 13 points a game.
Are you really going to suggest that the ability of one of the greatest drivers and finishers in the history of the game was down to [and I quote from Scalabrine], Shaq who was a "fraction of who he was in Miami", with all the evidence pointing to the contrary?
Wade was by far the #1 reason the Heat won a title in 2006 - anything else is revisionism.
