Its not necessarily that..he's clearly trying to do what he did before the Allen/KG trades. Its not the flexibility per se..right now its strictly talent evaluation and scouting for the draft. Hes going to go after a few of the big names in FA and has contingency plans for who they do or do not land and what pick they end up with. Its hard to narrow down because so many guys havent played enough to tell what we have in them, and in turn, what others see in them..and its not as clear cut as last time because the scouting landscape has changed and he cant live off the hype of guys (telfair/gerald) as in the past to fleece people...every team has taken their scouting to the next level since then (even if some of them still suck at drafting).

I'd argue he's in a better position with cap space and picks

He just doesn't have an al Jefferson type prospect unless you think he's willing to move smart and I hope he's a Celtic for life

They declined austin rivers option, he's an unrestricted free agent after this season

All that is great and all, but the Warriors probably aren't gonna get universal respect until they actually do something in the playoffs. Those regular season rankings will be meaningless if they're out in the 1st or 2nd round again.

yes..and i believe al jefferson is a free agent after this season

he has no problem dealing anyone, lets be honest. plus he was trying like hell to trade that 6th pick last year and i think smart just happened to fall to him as his BPA and also figured with rondo out the door they might as well go small.

i don't remember lance being 7 feet tall and getting 1 rebound in a playoff gamein that series against the hawks, he was the main guy for the pacers trying to will that team back into games until paul george put his big boy pants back on. i'm on record for not even liking lance but what he is and what people like to think he is are two different things. i'll be too ready to hate on him when he actually deserves it on this squad though.

maybe i'm still salty over lance hittin that fluke buzzer beater on us early in the season

but seriously i just don't see the big deal about him one way or the other

not surprised. between austin being around the celtics organization while doc was here and him being a distressed asset after being incredibly highly touted..its right up danny's alley.

he's better than phil pressey so he'll get run. i was telling @King Diesel that the celts dont feel much pressure in playing young right now. he'd be in the same role as he was in college..in maine he's the #1 guy (obviously). they know he can hang with nba guys..they wanna see how he responds as a #1 option
