That's not how it works fam, teams don't say "fukk it" unless they're contenders and can convince the player to stay via winning. Teams are shook to trade for guys in the final year of their deals, especially with Dwight Howard leaving LA fresh on memories.

Are there misses? of course, but there are some absolute grand slams and a surprising amount of rotational players and starters that can be got at 20-25.

Man if the Magic could get Tobias Harris for an expiring J.J. Redikk I know damn well the Celtics can do better than journeymen backups and late 1st rounders for Rondo.

I never you said couldn't find a gem as a late 1st rounder, but it's not likely and it doesn't mean I'm down for trading Rondo for one I could easily make a list of "gems" that were drafted in the 2nd round in recent years too. Means nothing.
