I don't see Randle going to Utah or Boston. Those teams have young 4's (it would make less sense for Utah given that they let both Big Al and Millsap and for what, to do the same shyt with Randle?). I actually coulda dropped Randle to 7 but I see the Lakers either taking him or Smart should the draft shake out this way.

Not enough can be said about Harris being the best player at his position in this draft class. If the Sixers fell out of the top 3 I could see Randle to Philly being a lock, but other than that, there isn't an ideal fit for Randle other than MAYBE LA.

And I'll say it again. Other than maybe Payne and Patric Young and that's as backups, I am not a fan of the PF group of 2014.

It's not worth arguing until we see the lottery, and we both agree Philly probably ends up at 4...

but if you have the Celtics drafting Exum, I'm assuming you're under the impression they'd be moving Rondo then otherwise I don't see the fit.

I really like the Rondo/Pressey combo, Pressey is extremely similar to Rondo (although obviously not as good) so with one of them being on the court, the team always plays the same style

Celtics really need to get in the top 3 because after that it's all power forwards and point guards and we don't really need any of them... Bass is still under contract, and they've been pretty vocal about wanting to bring back Humphries if the price is right... plus we have Sully and Olynyk

I'd have to know more about Embiid's injury history, but he's already making me nervous... Wiggins is probably the guy I'd take if I had the choice

My assumption is that the Celtics hedge their bets with Exum to where moving Rondo wouldn't necessitate a PG in return and would at least be able to play alongside Rondo.

Draft is filled with true 3's. Meanwhile so many of these teams need shooting guards. I do agree on the C's taking Wiggins should they luck out

If they fail to luck out and end up 4th or after that, and they project Exum or Smart as a future all star caliber point guard then I can see them trying to move Rondo again... or they could go in the opposite direction and trade out of the draft like they did in 2007

I wish the lottery were today, then I'd at least be able to make a somewhat reasonable projection of what could go down.

Utah has to take Randle if they don't get a top 3 pick. I don't care if you already have a 4 you have to take the best player available. Favors could be traded for other assets if Randle is better than him. Or Randle himself can be traded later on. Burks is getting better and would probably start over Harris next year anyway.

They just gave Favors $50 mil. They can't add someone like Randle without basically giving up on Kanter -- they're already discussing an extension -- (all while the Gordon Hayward situation hasn't been resolved and they're lacking another wing player. The best wing player they could go out and get is their own guy in Hayward.)

I'm a big Alec Burks fan. Why he only started 12 games makes no sense. That said, I don't know if they just like Burks off the bench better.

As I mentioned earlier, Utah's screwed at 4 and would be a trade candidate at 4, but I can't just assume that for the purpose of a mock draft.

You have to stockpile assets if you're in an undesirable location. Free agents refuse to sign to Utah, they should draft Randle and see what unfolds but at least they have assets. Harris will never be an allstar and he plays the worst position in the game.

Stockpiling assets for who? If you're in that situation the last thing you wanna do is draft young talented players that you can't keep. Your solution has the opposite effect. GM's will just lowball you knowing damn well you can't keep all of em and make it work.

If they're using the 4th pick to get a more established wing player, great, but I can't assume that.

And weren't you the same one saying the Lakers should draft Gary Harris, Kobe be damned a couple of months ago?
