I've been doing deep squats for decades. My knees are fine. If your form is correct from the start (under 135 lbs total weight including barbell), then you maintain that form while going up in weight.225? ATG? That's far too heavy and going down that low will injure your knees. I prefer keeping about a 135 degree angle between my shins and thighs. Much safer.
