Freak accident in the gym this morning.

Today was #fukkLegDayBoys. I was doing dumbbell lunges and heard a loud ass grunt. Truthfully it sounded like a meathead grunt so I thought nothing of it and kept it moving. Then they rang the emergency alarm.

One of the regulars broke his ankle doing squats. Homie's ankle was completely turned inward. The barbell actually hit the track so I was able to see how much weight her was lifting and it was insane. I've watched this dude lift before and he seems to be pretty strong but it looks like he may have gotten carried away this morning.

Since y'all are the homies I just want y'all to be safe getting your gains.

Talked to a dude the other day who said for warm ups he sits in the sauna for a awhile :dwillhuh:

I mean I just walk around in my sleeves.

Kind of the same thing isn't it? He's increasing the temperature of his connective tissues. :manny:

I guess the sauna just hits everyone different, makes me just want to relax.

I dunno, I was never a big sauna guy. :hubie:

If dude lifts hoe weights or looks like a fat piece of crap, then maybe he's not the example we wanna follow. If dude is an absolute beast with the bar or looks like he could step on stage, maybe he's on to something. :ehh:


As long as dude's body temperature increases, he is technically warming up. Warmer joints and muscles should mean they're more resilient to injury.


Either way I'm not hopping in the sauna before my sets.

Dude was scrawny ah. Said he was gonna hit his cardio, compounds, and isolation all in the same session lol

I wouldn’t join a gym without a sauna. Definitely aids recovery for me.
