You ran a program for only one month? :what:

You know you can run a PPL "set up" while still doing 5/3/1, right? :usure:

Not running a program, after all the life shyt hitting the fan late October I said ima just get it in when I can for a pump rest of year and start fresh n focused ‘23. So yeah I’m no where judging ppl based on it’s full potential.

Me saying I prefer FB > PPL is based on just looking forward to the gym more knowing I’m doing ima be hitting two “opposite” ( A press w/ a dead/squat) compounds same session :hubie:

10x5 press right around the corner :myman:

I find your lack of PPL conviction disturbing.
full

A vertical + horizontal press on Push Days; a Squat + Deadlift Variation on Legs; and a Deadlift + Row or Squat Variation on Pull Days.

Repeat that twice a week and become a Sage.

Or follow Jim's cookie cutter, low-volume templates for slow, consistent progress. :hhh:

Just curious, how far do you guys generally live from your gym?

I'm seriously considering joining a new gym with two 24/7 locations, but it's 20-35 minutes away depending on location
It's about $10 cheaper per month than the gym that I was going to pre covid that's like 5 blocks from my house and a 5 min drive
That gym that's closer is also generally not crowded since it's mostly old people who go there, but they close at 9pm :patrice:

The farther gym looks "cooler" , has younger crowd, and more equipment. It's a power lifter gym actually so I can probably grunt and slam weights in there etc
My worry is that the distance will de-incentive me from going on days i don't feel like going.....
I'm thinking about buying a 10 visit punch card and gauging how i feel about driving 30 miles after leg day and shyt like that
I never went to a gym that was far away

$10 difference should not dictate which gym you go to.... atmosphere and what you are looking for in a work out should...... anecdotally speaking. I switched from a 24/7 franchise type gym that was a 10min walk from my house to a powerlifting one that takes about 40mins by car.........

So the real question is............

How bad you want thes Gainz playboy? :birdman:.

1) Powerlifting is one word. A 'powerlifter gym', not power lifter gym. :martin:

2) I've only ever traveled that far when I'm on a business trip or on vacation.

3) I currently have access/memberships to:
- 1 gym in the building I live in
- 2 gyms less than 2.5 miles away [<5 min drive]
- 1 gym that's 5 miles away [10-12 min drive]
- 2 gyms at work 12 miles away [≈ 15 minute drive]
(all gyms are 24/7 access)

I refuse to have less than one full gym (i.e. multiple squat racks) more than 15 mins away from the crib.

4) One gym is 5 mins away but closes at nine, and the other is 10 bucks less, open 24/7, but is 30 minutes away? :jbhmm:

Unless you drive a bicycle or a hybrid, wouldn't you burn up the $10 a month in gas (and then some) anyways?

5) Driving 30 minutes one way to a gym is OD to me, and not something I would do on the regular. If my math is correct, that's on average 13 days a year spent in traffic just going back and forth to the gym.
powerlift dead

6) Grunting and slamming weights is some gym hoe shyt. Don't do that. :hhh:

I’m about twenty mins from three different locations

1. 20mins South of my house but I gotta travel north for work
2. 20mins west of my house but I gotta travel north west for work
3. 20mins north of my house and is on the same route as the one I take to go work

and there’s a location 5 mins from my job that I go to five days a week since it’s on the way to my job without having to worry about traffic .

30mins out the way is something I couldn’t do personally. Which is why I don’t go to option 1 or option 2 on days when I have to work
