Went 12/12 with 5 warmup sets on skwats yesterday. Top single going up 10 lbs every week like clockwork, word to orange.
Then after 58 mins of squatting I pulled sumo for about 45. Touched 545 and it went up quick like a cheap building.
Lower back and dem were not recovered from Sunday’s assault but my CNS said send it so I did.

Yeah 40 pound jump from the previous weeks…….FWIW, hitting 470 and then trying to hit 500 is not the move. PLers like me can do that because we specialize in doing heavy singles repeatedly.
But touching 470 and then doing a single 106% heavier after that sounds like a recipe for failure, especially if your rest period was short (less than 4-5 minutes).
