Made the guy’s mom a bday cake and it’s sitting in my stomach like a brick :flabbynsick:

they made the 8am class into 8:30, not sure if the later time or summer travel got this shyt looking like tumbleweeds but it ain’t the same with just 5-7 people :sadcam:

Got 470 and was feeling good but couldn't get that big bytch off the ground

Went 12/12 with 5 warmup sets on skwats yesterday. Top single going up 10 lbs every week like clockwork, word to orange. :blessed:


Then after 58 mins of squatting I pulled sumo for about 45. Touched 545 and it went up quick like a cheap building. :banderas:


Lower back and dem were not recovered from Sunday’s assault but my CNS said send it so I did. :whew:

FWIW, hitting 470 and then trying to hit 500 is not the move. PLers like me can do that because we specialize in doing heavy singles repeatedly.

But touching 470 and then doing a single 106% heavier after that sounds like a recipe for failure, especially if your rest period was short (less than 4-5 minutes). :ufdup:

No, I meant a 40 pound jump from a previous max within the same session is risky, especially if you’re not used to doing that.

I always jump planned singles from 135 —> 185 —> 225 —> 275 —> 315 —> 365 —> 405 —> 455 —> 495 —> 545, and so on.

The closer you are to 100% the more likely you are to fail a rep IME.
