Fasting does a great job at resetting your body if you start to plataeu. I've noticed my best gains in terms of building muscle come after I do a 3-4 day fast.

Its like the body knows you lost some mass (mostly fat) and will compensaye for that fat loss by building more muscle.

You can choose to not believe me but its something I've noticed in the last few months.

Couldn't be me though. Although, if you're not lifting 5-7 days a week, then maybe you can get away with only eating 1 or 2 days a week. :hubie:

I've heard rhetoric similar to this but fasting for 3 days is crazy to me.

You gotta work up to it. The first time I did a 3 day fast it was brutal. Literally couldn't do anything but stay in bed. However, after that it kept easier. To the point now that I can do 3-4 day fasts while working out and living a completely normal life.

The body adapts easily to whatever you put it through. Fasting is pretty natural (remember our ancestors had to do it to survive) so the body adapts pretty quickly to it.

Just fight through the first long fast. They become much easier after that.

Don't you weigh like a buck fifty? :patrice: Might wanna say fukk the fasting and get to bulking.

I'm actually about 163 lbs now. Gained a good 10 lbs of pure muscle in about 3 months. I started to plateau recently in the mid-160s which is why I did a 3 day fast which knocked me back down into the 155 range but I've rebounded quickly back to the low 160s right now with more muscle mass at a lower body fat %.

I'm trying to get up to 170 by March.

Actually prolonged fasting heals your body. When you fast the body increases production of HGH (Human Growth Hormone). This is what protects you from losing muscle. As long as you have sufficient body fat the body will use that as fuel and spare your muscle.

The body also does something called AUTHOPHAGY. Essentially the body recycles old cells that aren't working right and replaces them with newer healthier cells. Its why a lot of people who fast have such great skin and begin to look younger. I've had people say I look like I did back in high school and college since I started fasting despite being in my early 30s now.

I only do these long 3-4 day fasts once every 6 weeks or so now. Once your body is in a healthy weight range you don't want to do too many long fasts. You wanna save them for theraputic means every now and then.

My day to day consists of intermittent fasting. I eat one meal a day. Fast the other 23 hours. Its worked well for me. Been able to do a slow clean bulk where I'm building muscle while minimizing fat. I also only work out 2 days a week (full body). I find two intense 2.5 hour long full body workouts per week to be sufficient for building muscle while maximizing recovery.

Funny cause I'm doing 2.5 hour full-body workouts 5 to 7 times a week, am still lean, weigh more than most high schoolers, and can eat whatever I want. :takedat:

You'll lose a lot of weight early on as your body adjusts but remember you can still overeat on one meal a day (especially if you eat processed foods). So you will need to watch what you eat.

If you eat raw unprocessed foods for one meal a day then its pretty hard to gain fat. You will lose fat rapidly.

I've been able to bulk by sorta force feeding myself. I eat one meal a day but I try to eat as much as I possibly can rather than stopping when I'm comfortably full. If I looking to maintain I would simply eat to the point of being full.

Do you take PEDs?

If not then props to you and your ability to recover. 3 full-body workouts per week would be my breaking point. If you can do it 5-7 times per week without PEDs then you are blessed.

Lol, no, for what? :russ: So I can be an even bigger, more effective gym bully? :dead: #TeamNatty

Only shyt I take is protons, creatine, vitamins, joint supplements, aminos, and The Lord's Powda. :lawd:







Drugs are bad, and that includes sterons (but frfr I'd lose my job if they caught that shyt in my house or my system. :sadcam:)
