To something somewhat decent. I think 3 months is enough because I hit the gym after not touching a barbell for 6 months and was back in about that time. Y’all recommend protein shakes or just whole foods?

I mean somewhat decent depends on where you at now and what YOU consider decent for you.
You just trying to put on muscle mass or lean down?
Either way whole foods always gonna be good but if you don't think you're getting what you need from just that some protein powder can help. Just know everything that powder gonna do, some real food gonna do plus more IMO.

3 months til my 21st. Can I build myself up in that time brehs? I maintained some muscle and I start my gym membership next week.

Too many variables to call it: current status, training history, goals, genetics, work ethic.

As long as you don't expect to go from student to sage in 3 months, you should have enough time to make noticeable improvements, provided you train appropriately, eat to support your goals and recover.

@Krisrunner2049 Please realize that protons and other supplements are not magic nor are they substitutes for doing what you need to do: they are amplifiers, they simply buff what you are already doing.

If your training and diet is shyt, the powder won't make a difference. If your training and diet are on point you can get away without supps. I like the convenience, portability, and "drinkability" of proton shakes so that's why I use em.

Honestly, you'd prolly be better off not buying anything and just seeing how these three months go. I know a lot of people that bullshyt back and forth on some "Imma get right" one week only to to be back on some bullshyt the next. Some "new month, new me" ass folk. :francis:

One bish I know be talmbout she needs to buy preworkout but has no motivation to go to the gym. :mindblown: (She passes a GNC every day on the way to work.) A motherfukker too lazy to buy some damn pre has no business taking it; it'll just sit there unused at the crib. :mjlol: Dusty bytch. :flabbynsick: :camby:

Another cat I know always be bullshytting. Has no kids, not in school, no side hustle, family, etc., just work and free time. Always juelzing for a reason he can't be on his gym shyt but swears he gonna start next week or month (and has been like this for the last year since he fell off). Have free access to physical therapists, trainers, and multiple gyms and still be built like a 6th grader, full-grown coli crehs.
:scust:

/End rant.

Is $600.00 way too much for a pair of really good adjustable dumbbells? Up to 75 lbs each.

600 is a full years gym membership with a bunch of the extra personal trainer stuff :hhh:

if you going the home gym route, yes as long as you get all the weights

I won't be going to the gym for at least 6 months (maybe ever if I can put together a good home gym).

Yeah. My gym got shut down, opened up for a little bit then shut down again.
Might as well invest in a decent home workout set up. I miss a lot of the gym equipment but.....

Gotcha.

$600 is still a lot for DBs. The heavy Bowflex ones were only like 3-400 without the stand.
