Probably should be a thread, but how do you do an "arm day" and/or "leg day"? Is it about the quantity of reps/duration of time you dedicate to the exercises ~hr? How much cardio should I do before/after? And how frequently in a week if my goals are to lose (a lot)?

I'd keep cardio and resistance training in two separate sessions. Arm days and leg days are pretty self explanatory :jbhmm: just means you do the most work for arms on arm day, and the most work for legs on leg day

So what kinds of workouts? Circuits? Assisted lift machines or free weights? Do speed and rest time between sets matter? How many reps/weight, should it hurt right after I'm done or does it not really matter as long as it's moderately challenging?

Also

should I look at protein shakes? :sadcam:

I would stick with primarily compounds... truthfully machine or free weights doesn't matter. The way you should gauge load is you should struggle to get the last rep in on the last set. So you will have to experiment with weight to see where you are with each lift. As for cardio I personally don't like mixing it with lifting. If I have to do them on the same day I keep a couple hour gap in between. So I'll lift at lunch and then do cardio before bed. Protein shakes are great... a big one will keep you full and be a lot lower in calories than a comparable meal.

the boldness of "Soccer moms" at some of these Lifetimes is amazing. Zero fukks given, zero shame

This chick didn't say one word to me while I lifted. Late 30's really fit kinda yoga instructor build

She just sat quietly on a bench across from where I was squatting like :shaq: I thought I was just making it up and she was mid set of ab work or something and she just happened to be facing my direction. .. but it went on for like 25 mins of her just sitting there creeping.

I finish up and start un-racking my weights she gets up and walks away. Shyt was so hilariously weird.
