Movie would’ve been huge, they could of done the show after. So much money missed out on
Movie could've been huge, but it wouldn't tell a fraction of their story. Plus, according to Rae, the numbers RZA needed they weren't gonna get. The only movie I can think of that told a good story of multiple people is Krush Groove. And even that only captured a moment in time. Straight Outta Compton omitted Ren & Yella, and that's only 5 (well 6 really) members, and has one good half, one generic half.
Guess I’m in the minority, the TV show is great and the better route.
Agreed RZA was a dikk about how he did it, but that’s true the character he displayed on the show too
TV show was the way to go. RZA has been doing this successfully on a professional for 15 plus years now. I’ll take his judgement over a novice like Rae.
Plus I guarantee you, Rae and U God would have hated either way. RZA is a damn saint for putting up with these nikkas.
Rae should just go make a Wu-Tang movie on his own. Either do that or STFU.

Btw, I’m reading Rae’s book right now and he is speaking very highly about RZA.
I agree they messed up BIGTIME not making the movie.... That would have brought the young audience around to them and see what they are about and to check out some of their music, plus we wan't an accurate story as well! It was a huge missed opportunity for sure.
For the first two thirds of the book anyway. Chef goes in on RZA and Divine something serious in the last third of the book.

Rae can’t make a Wu-Tang Movie on his own. RZA Owns the Wu-Tang name and brand thats why he had to get RZA Involved. Anything RZA involving Wu-Tang as a group or entity needs RZA’s say so. Rae and the rest of the members own their own names and brands but not Wu. Theoretically Rae could make a solo Raekwon movie, which is what he should do but he ain’t gonna get no huge budget for it.
RZA was smart for letting them out of their OG contracts but keeping an iron fist on the Wu-Tang name. I’m convinced the others would have squandered it by now
Also RZA was 100% right in making the series over the movie. RZA is the creator, executive producer, a writer AND Director of the series. He also has the other members as executive producers and Mathematics as a creative consultant. There’s no WAY he would have gotten that kind of power doing a big budget Hollywood film. RZA was right
