It's between Wu-Tang, Public Enemy and NWA for best group ever imo, so trust this isn't at all a diss thread. However, a lot of street nikkas wasn't fukking with that Kung-Fu/different sounding shyt. Rae and Ghost were the street element. They talked about the real life drug dealings, the poverty all that extra grimey shyt that nikkas dealt with on a daily. nikkas getting shot, stabbed, drug wars etc...
ODB was looked at as the wild out crazy nikka in the click. Rae and Ghost was the fly, get money nikkas. Rae and Ghost was the nikkas from your block that was driving fly whips, dressing nice, that was the hustlers. ODB was the nikka on your block drinking a 40 and wildin' out. Completely different feel. Street nikkas relate to Rae and Ghost
I get your point but bad example, nobody in the Wu rapped like DMX. He was grimey as fukk but no other Wu members had that grimey speak for the streets sound like DMX. Let's be honest, nobody cares about U-God and Master Killa, so they're out the picture
Rae and Ghost - Street drug dealers/fly nikka rappers
Method Man - Street/Comedy/Female rapper of the clique
ODB - Drunk/drug addicts that just did and said off the wall things and barely made sense
RZA - Some street, but also conscious, and into all kinda 5%er shyt and other worldly things
GZA - Very technical/lyrical MC, rapped street shyt but not from a "Fly get money" type perspective. He wasn't "cool".

The Kung Fu part is extra ridiculous because the Kung Fu movie boom of the 70s was fueled BY the hood.Re-reading this thread is hilarious.
So, I guess street dudes didn't fukk with Tribe, De La, Kane, Pharacyde, Tha Liks, BCC...hell, and street dudes from that era also didn't watch Kung Fu flicks...
