It happens cause people are racist. Her putting it out there does absolutely nothing. She doesn't expose anything, she doesn't gain anything from it, and she's not making any political statement. I don't think silence is the key either. Sometimes things need to be pointed out. If people don't shine a light on how things are you'd never know how things are. So I think her shining a light on what she deals with is good in that sense. If these type of things remain hidden, then you'd get comments like 'racism is dead, nobody even thinks or behaves like that.' And you'd get most people to believe it because you don't have any proof of it.
