There is clearly a pedo/child s3xual abuse problem in our community. I know too many black women that were abused as little girls by grown men and someone that was supposed to help them turned a blind eye, made an excuse, or stopped short of doing what they should've done.

It probably just as many boys but men are comfortable talking about such things.

It won't get resolved until people acknowledge it, speak up, and these perpetrators start mysteriously "going missing".

R. Kelly being a victim himself aint an excuse. He chose to abuse children, that is one of the few things that can't be excused and that immediately should result in death.

People don’t want to acknowledge this.

They call little girls “fast” not acknowledging that those girls have probably been abused, which has perverted their behavior and made them accustomed to certain things that other little girls know nothing about.

Or say “well she knows what she’s doing, she wanted it” also not understanding that these are KIDS who don’t understand how to stand up to adults/authority figures and are still seeking acceptance and approval. So yea, they’re going to go with the flow because if a MAN who is 20 yrs older than you tells you to do something you OBVIOUSLY have no power or ability to get away or say no.

Shyt is a vicious cycle and by the time some women actually deal with their issues they might actually be much older/out of the marriage window. Many women you encounter were stunted emotionally because of shyt like this.

Again, I was VERY protected and the men in my family are amazing, but there were still “distant relatives” and “family friends” who slipped through the cracks and tried shyt under my family’s roof. Luckily they were caught because the men in my immediate family kept a keen eye on me- even when I was out of college.
