I wanna say R cause of his versatility and ability to produce hits and craft albums for other artists... not to mention his own expansive discography but he doesn't have any albums as good as this and his absolute best albums (Self Titled, R, TP2, Chocolate Factory) are just on par with VooDoo and some of those aren't better at all (Self Titled) while the others are arguable. I gotta give the edge to D... but it's definitely close.

And the arrogance and straight up ignorance of some in this thread trying to equate R. Kelly's music with a B2K or a fast food restaurant is fukking laughable. The man wrote songs like The World's Greatest, A Woman's Threat, I Believe I Can Fly, Life, I Look to You...a litany of lush, substantive songs on his resume. If you prefer D'Angelo cool, just say you like him more. Don't expose yourself as someone who has very little knowledge of his music by saying his music is like Shake Shack and D's is like a Peter Luger. That's just dumb shyt.

A lot of the songs posted in this thread in defense of R. Kelly is actually why a lot of those pro D'angelo don't take R. Kelly seriously.

Overall, R. Kelly got it, but I still prefer Brown Sugar over any R. Kelly album.

I think R. Kelly is a great, but he's vastly overrated on here. Breh is nowhere near Stevie, MJ, Prince, Marvin, or any of those guys.

I hope this is a troll post. Of all R. Kelly classics, this song hurts his case rather than help.

No it doesn't. It actually helps alot because it displays Kells versatility and range. The man can easily make a D'Angelo-esque song and still make a playful song like I'm A Flirt. And both will be really, really good.

That song doesn't display R. Kelly's versatility at all. That song was some Bow Wow/B2K that was a cool single. He had better examples of making songs like that.

Yes it does show off his versatility. It was a great fukking song and it's not the sultry, provocative R&B that Kells is mostly known for. I've yet to meet anyone personally that doesn't like that song. Post the better examples.

Kelly can easily make a song that could comfortably fit on a D'Angelo album. D'Angelo couldn't make a song like I'm A Flirt or Ignition or Body if his life depended on it. Like I said...he has WAAAAYYYY more range, creativity and versatility than D'Angelo.
