As a fan and more, this one stings. Man was literally a hero and curator to the southern soundtrack of my youth. Not only that, was a hero to southern cats who for so long was disregarded in hip hop cause booty shake was the sound that defined the region. Made a lot of Black folks proud to be from the south. Man has CLASSICS under his belt. I’m forever grateful. RIP Rico
Well said

What I’m feeling for sure

Not even the rich and successful one bruh. I’ve lost way more friends in the last 3-4 years than all the years combined it seems. Sometimes it feels like there’s a segment of Black men dying at a rate higher than their ancestors did or their racial peers now and nobody seems to care. shyt feels like an epidemic in itself. Of the more than two handful of friends, only one made it past 45 y/o.

This is true. I lost two friends in the last two years. Both under 45, both died of a heart attack. One died at the gym if you can believe it. Im damn near vegetarian now because of them.

I lost my best friend two years ago. He died in his sleep at the age of 34. It's still surreal to me.
Rest In Peace to yall loved one's. I hope ya holding up ok. I lost some family between last year and early this yr. My first time losing people close to me. It's surreal.
