First Ka joints I ever got put onto real heavy

:wow:

"I own the night. The heat's my reciept" is such a :mjtf: line.

Cold Facts was the first song where I paid attention. I heard him on Marci's album but kinda glossed over it.

I remember half listening to Cold Facts at first, past the beat being unique.

But holy shyt that line had me like :picard: and I listened ever since.

Rapper, producer and firefighter for 20 years
:ehh:

Wasn't hip to his music but he was a productive member of the society

R.I P

He was what I'm still aiming to become career wise. Make money in hip hop and a well paying career.

I always worked, I get paid alright - but not really good but a home, raise a family have a car easier money.

I think what Ka did with his work is what 90 percent of indie rappers should do. Certainly if can't sustain a living off of music. Including formerly signed rappers. Including Damon Dash.

It's like go for your dreams and name, but see the cold facts and get that money to live good.

He was an incredible example of being a human being and artist.

I remember when that shyt rag New York Post exposed him for grimy lyrics. Idiots. Happy to see he became a fire captain from fireman through that era.

You have to be physically strong to be a fireman.

Damn he the same age as my pops, can't say I knew that much about the brother before his demise but I will go and listen to some of his work, hate to discover and explore an artist's discography post mortem but it's how they still live on
