"Jump" is such a legendary song. Knowing the lyrics made me famous among the older kids in school when i was in 4th grade. :to:

Gotta suck to be remember for wearing clothes backwards :yeshrug:

Actually that caused a fashion trend amongst young fans from my generation. Also they will be remembered for more than that. Kriss Kross literally opened the door for every adolescent emcee to come after them as far as success. "Another Bad Creation" dropped before them but they were a mix of rapping and RnB. Kriss Kross from a straight rapping standpoint opened up that door for Shyhiem, Da Youngstas, Illegal, A+, Lil Bow Wow, Lil Romeo, Lil Wayne and even B.G. since they were young when they rapped all owe their careers to Kriss Kross kicking down the door making it normal for someone young to rap on a mainstream level. I really think people are missing the Impact they had. Let me put this in perspective:

"Totally Krossed Out" was the HIGHEST SELLING RAP ALBUM of 1992. A Year that saw Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" released and Arrested Development's "2 days, 5 months and 3 years in the life of" released. They were in cameos from Michael Jackson, Run DMC, TLC. They were on Oprah. They had a video game, they literally made So So Def a label with their success. No Child Emcees have yet to surpass the success of their debut. None of the adolescent emcees I named moved 4x Platinum. What JD and these little guys accomplished was Historic in Hip Hop History.
