No, I would be a politician. I would say "let's not rush to judgment, let us wait for all of the facts to come out. "

The fact is even if Tweeden wasn't full of shyt, which she is, this whole Franken thing isn't a big deal. Nobody cares. You can keep quiet and it would have died down. The Moore stuff is pedophilia. It's easy to attack him and no comment Franken because it's one serious issue and one lesser issue that nobody seemed to care about.

Saw a tweet comparing Dems to Ned Stark and Republicans to the Lannisters. Morals sound nice but when you have someone like Roy Moore on the other side you should be hammering them, hell the guy who used taxpayer money to pay off harassment claims is not even under half the pressure. Remember the Latino Victory Fund ad in VA , there were editorials by the Washington Post saying there is no place for the ad and apparently they never wrote one about the MS13 stuff the other side was doing. The Dems are actually even weaker when confronted by racial issues such as gerrymandering in NC, there was a Supreme Court ruling detailing the racial motivation and yet Democrats hardly made a squeak it was actually people like Rev Barber being public about the issue.

To be honest moral grandstanding in politics is pointless, does nothing for making life better for everyday people, and is a game not played equally. Secondly, all these dudes have skeleton in their closet. All of them.

Like I said, the republicans only look at their politicians to carry out their political goals. Not to be a moral guide. Wish it wasn’t the case but it is what it is. If you say you’re against abortion, bringing Jesus back into school, deconstructing the federal government, against gay marriage, etc etc then as a politician they will get support. The political end is more important than the person to then.

So sadly the democrats probably need to focus more on political ideas and fight republicans on that front. Especially when your side isn’t innocent. Trying to fight over moral purity is a losing battle in this corrupt society.

Part of the problem is a major contingent of my generation, (among others) of voters on the Dem/left side, insist upon "purity politics", or a version of them. They are smart, informed, passionate voters, but they don't go for the Hillary types, which is self destructive and short sighted, but it's the way they vote. That has long been politics as usual, (politicians are flawed, but we vote for them), but now it's something different. Dems know they will LOSE the Bernie people, if they go "low", which will lose elections for them no question.
