I like Franken's work in the senate, I remember watching him on the Daily Show as a child, in early 2000's, I have a copy of one of his books somewhere too. But, if a Dem, esp someone like Ellison, gets the seat, I don't see it as an unmitigated disaster. The kind of thing he's been accused of isn't acceptable behavior from anyone, and I'm sorry it was him, but either you stand on principles, or you don't. Obviously, you need to be strategic, and there is a balance too.

Franken got to step down because the party needs to have a clear sign they don't accept this not only for their overall constituents, but to let Jones be able to lambaste the Republicab party in Alabama. Some republicans are using Franken to pull a "see the Dems are no better" in the Alabama election when it comes to treating women like sexual objects. Yeah it's not the same but we all know Republicans lie and cheat and steal.
Plus in the future they are going to hammer the shyt out of the republicans for the foul shyt they been doing and this will be another hammer to do it with. Even if Moore wins in Alabama he would not win in almost any other state (Maybe 3 max)
