Given the wide variety of accusations, who wants the task of telling an alleged victim that, "Hey, we get what he did to you was wrong but what he did to her was worse so that is what's going to get the attention." To be perfectly honest we should be sorting these claims by severity of the alleged incident. The rape of a minor is much more serious than groping a woman's ass. It's okay to acknowledge that. It doesn't mean that one is wrong and the other is okay, they are both wrong, the severity of the offenses, however, is not equal.
But because no one wanted to be on the wrong side of a public relations disaster in Hollywood, each allegation that was leaked or reported has received the same amount of outrage from the general public with an equally swift and brutal response from employers and business partners and everyone agrees that it is the worst thing ever, until the next allegation hits the news. Now we have John Lasseter taking a leave of absence for being too "huggy" and other vague allegations which could possibly force him out entirely and if that were to happen he'd be following the same career death trajectory of Harvey Weinstein, a man accused of serial rape.
This is why Al Franken and Roy Moore can be bundled together because people are too scared to admit some accusations are more serious than others based upon the alleged actions of the accused. As I've seen on the Coli and elsewhere this is not an issue until someone you care about could be potentially damaged. Then people want to say"let's slow down and think about this for a minute here."

It's a hit job... But that picture he took where he was “groping” the one girl is enough to plant doubt in people's mind. You can't prove a booty grab but the picture will be enough evidence for most that he grabbed other women. It's a hit job but it's going to work
Allegedly. You can't use his leave of absence as an admission of all accusations. The fact that he labeled them "missteps" makes it even worse. Were these missteps being huggy and too far into one's personal space or was it actual physical harassment and assault?
He needs to just own up to exactly what he did or any accusation against him can be considered one of those "missteps."

I can understand the silence regarding rape. But an ass grab? Hugging? Personal space violations? Those can be addressed immediately.

The ones in this thread crying about this being a hitjob on Franken are probably the same ones who SWORE that Cosby was guilty and didn't want to hear anything about him trying to buy NBC.
Re-reading this entire thread, I'm disheartened with how many posters in here are victim-blaming....
That Cosby talk had been going around for years. Hannibal Buress was the one who helped it get mainstream attention. Cosby might not have raped them all some of them might have dog piled on.

The fukk is wrong with some of these dudes? I know for a fact that I'm an incredibly horny heterosexual male and i'd pretty outgoing and if NEVER ever even think of doing some of this shyt. I gotta assume that a lot of these dude's are addicts and or alcoholics and did this shyt under the influence. It just doesn't make any sense.
