R&B heads, how do ya'll feel about these new school, atmospheric female R&B artists?

Whack, b. There are no memorable melodies or harmonies. In all honesty, the dudes in position to "sign" those chicks putting them on to smash.

This reggae record sounds more R&B than those chicks.

Where would I start to check out Tinashe's music?

I'd start with her 2nd mixtape, imo its still her best project. both of the songs I posted are on here
Tinashe - Reverie // Free Mixtape @ DatPiff.com

Black Water was the last mixtape she dropped, not as good as Reverie imo, but still was decent. has much more of a laidback 90s vibe
Tinashe - Black Water // Free Mixtape @ DatPiff.com

I still haven't listed to her first mixtape but it does have the joint that really put her on

she just dropped a new joint with Schoolboy Q for her commercial debut but I'm not really feeling it, way too generic

That weak song didn't put her on. That light skin and sexy body did that.

The Deep State
:patrice:hmm, I wonder why Rochelle is the only one out of the 4 you fukk with

:heh:
nah...she sounds like an actual artist.

And I dont understand the whole drake connection or what there is if there is.

Been following her for a minute and shes probably one of the better ones this category.

The other 3 sound like try-hards who like the image more than the music itself.

TBH.. i've never listened to Jhen, so I can't speak on her. Apparently it's a love/hate thing with her lol. SZA is becoming a favorite..slowly. Tinashe i've never heard of, but will check out. Rochelle is :noah:... been vibing to her.

Drake giving her a shoutout and her Marvin's Room remix is how a lot of people found out about her, but fair enough

idk, I like some of her joints but I think she's more concerned with making music she thinks Aaliyah would make if she were still alive then being her own artist

I also think Tinashe and SZA have much stronger voices and are better songwriters, Tinashe especially. She's the only artist of the 4 who can make a song about being a slave to capitalism sound sexy

as far as Rochelle having the strongest artistic identity, I'll give you that one. Tinashe and SZA both sound like they haven't figured out who they're trying to be yet

but yeah, one thing everyone in this thread can agree on is that Jhene is overrated as hell

Yall need to be up on Morisha Danee, shes taking rnb back to what its suppose to be. Op you also forgot to mention Gwen Bunn.

Was about to ask you who Gwen Bunn is, but then I realized I've heard some of her joints on Black and sexy Tv. Sounds dope, I'll peep more.

Never heard of Morisha, drop some joints
