Try quitting weed its tougher, the days go slowly, the hours slowly, everything feels dull and less fun. One just has to perserve and find other outlets for fun/engagement. I have gotten into gaming a bit to stop these urges.
Gaming and music for me, but both are great with a nice stiff drank or 2 depending on the vibes

Yup the biggest issue i had was that everything was just less fun and boring, the time felt like it was moving so slowly , whereas when i was on weed everything felt relaxed and chill, it takes a determined person and mindset to get off those urges, things like gaming, exercising, ie taking a walk and the occasional drink can help too

During the pandemic I realized I was mostly drinking because all I had in the house was water, tea, and coffee. I really only drink beer or a little bit of whiskey over ice.

When I have other non-pop things to drink, I don't drink at all.

Just do social activities that aren't centered around alcohol.

Blaming Instagram for his drinking habits…That excuse is a weak ass Gen Z influence. There ain’t shyt you can tell me about substance abuse champ. Stop coddling dude.
Do companies spend millions advertising their products on social media for the fun of it?

And he didn't blame his drinking habits on social media. You know that he was referring to what he sees on SM to highlight what people do for a good time, but this is more about you pumping your chest and flexing on the younger generation.

Quitting is difficult if you have nothing else to do. I started working from home during Covid and still do. When everything was shut down I started drinking a lot more out of boredom. Once things opened up again I eased up. It’s a lot easier to go to HH and stop ordering after two or three drinks. If I have a fifth in the house though with nothing to do that shyt is done by the end of the night.

In your 20s? Yeah, I bet its tough.

In my early 40s and, this year, I decided to see how long I can go dry (went dry on Jan 5th).

Ultimately, I will return but, after this stint, I won't drink as much as I used to.

Been challenged heavy too. Maintained despite:

1. an all-inclusive Caribbean vacay

2. attending many events with FREE top shelf alcohol

3. hosting parties and folks bringing top shelf

:wow:
