my last drinks were on new year’s eve leading into new years…time to chill again…I was sober for a year and a half then just went on a crazy “binge”…time to tighten up once I stop enjoying it

Especially in your early 20s :snoop:

I go on IG and EVERYBODY story is drink drink drink, soju, shots, margaritas.

You can’t even really go out like that cause now you the one weirdo who NOT doing shots and not getting tipsy.

Not even tryna diss folks who drink. It’s just like DAMN :wtf: folks really don’t have any kind of social engagement without drinks. shyt lowkey sad looking from the outside. Again NO hate at all towards them cause I get it…but damn
It’s only hard if ur an alcoholic imo :yeshrug:

I quit cold turkey one day about 10 years ago and never looked back.

I went to the club the next weekend after quitting and just got a cranberry juice and then got a bottled water after that.

I had fun without drinking, wasn't dizzy, no getting drunk or throwing up, no making stupid decisions because of alcohol. I could drive and didn't need to get a taxi. I quickly learned that I didn't need to drink to have fun

Woke up the next day feeling GREAT, no hangover. No nausea, headache, no need for Tylenol or anything. That sold me and I never drank again.

If someone pressures you to drink, you can just tell them you're driving tonight or that you have work in the morning.

Problem gambling on Reddit. See the crazy stories and the success stories on there. Helps a little. Been a bit more than a year for me now. Can't see myself going back.

High off life, I go to clubs regularly yet have never had a drink, even though my friends keep pressuring me

This part.....casuals don't realize it's a real thing for some people and not just a matter of lack of discipline, willingness, or conviction. As someone who has struggled with drinking for over 20 years, the desire to quit is always there....but the desire for "just one more" is equally as strong.

Cliche as it sounds....just gotta take it one day at a time... :yeshrug:
