nah my dude. high tuition is never worth it unless ur into medical or things that involve peoples lives. n1ggas graduating with 100G+ in debt. aint no way they're paying that off within the next 15 years.

i work in the computer field and the advice i'd give anyone is, get as many certifications as u can. i aint saying cats shouldn't go to college, but find the cheapest damn college near where u live and go there. there's a college near me that charges $5000 per semester. as long as it aint an online school, you'll be set.

i seriously get angry when i hear students applying for schools that cost an insane amount of money. where are the parents of these students? why aren't these idiot parents steering their children away from these scams?????
People tried to clown on me because I went to a community college...calling it 13th and 14th grade. They are not laughing now though, that was 4 semesters of tuition at $1,600.

People have just been caught up in all the shyt being fed to them and with Capitalism the education system took full advantage of the opportunity. It's simple logic in which the more people have qualifications the tougher it is to land a job. You also add globalization to that mix and you are looking at a crisis. We are paying more for degrees diminishing in value...that makes no sense economically.

Exactly... They are stuck in massive debt while you aren't.

$50 to $100 per class compared to $500 per class.

Per credit is about triple the amount of a local community college from what I have searched across the whole country. I was looking at my options before transferring and Louisville made the most sense...relatively cheap online programs and allowed me to keep working. The system has changed, but many are still under the impression that as long as that paper is in hand...time to get paid. I agree with your bit about parents...they beat that into my skull when I was younger

It was the parents that drove them into the scam in the first place. "Get your education and everything else will take care of itself." "Make sure you get your education."

Parents drove their kids right into that buzz-saw, because during their day, a college degree DID put a person ahead of the pack because they were nowhere near as prevalent as they are now. Now, just about everyone seems to have a college degree or is pursuing one, so essentially college has turned into the new high school... You then mix higher education with unscrupulous businessman/profit-hoarders and you have countless students with tens of thousands of dollars of debt and no job to show for it. That's what happens when you make current day decisions off of old data and refuse to extrapolate for the future. Everyone was told to get the degrees and leave behind fields like plumbing, mechanics, etc... and now you have a shortage of those fields, and guys in those fields are making very reasonable livings with no debt.

Honestly, the baby boomer generation has to have been terrible for the younger generations. Not only did they send their kids through the college debt buzz-saw, they are also shipping off all the jobs overseas, making that debt-ridden degree even more worthless. On top of that, we're not going to get social security that we're paying into and the economy is on the brink. Let's also not forget turning this nation into a police state. Honestly man, the writing is on the wall. I'm not planning to leave the country just because of the neo feminism that is rampant, but also several other things I see that tell me things are going to go downhill even faster than they are now.

The debt slave thing is VERY real. All of those airport scanners and the 'do not fly' list... does anyone honestly believe that has anything to do with devious brown men hatching plots? Nah, those are intended to keep you IN the country, especially when we have so much debt hanging overhead. Look at our national debt. SOMEONE has to pay it. When it's time to collect, the means of leaving this country are going to be shut-down.

:ohhh:

Did you realize that this generation who has the most trouble with getting girls properly is the same generation that parents' told them to "stay on them books" at all costs? Its like we sacrificed our humanity for the sake of a scam education and a promise of a good job, cause like you said, all because "Everything will take care of itself as long as you get a good education."

the shyt turned into a factory. theres a reason why movies like the matrix resonated so strongly with folks when it came out.

everyone knew deep down that we have been lied to, but couldnt place their finger on what exactly. now, the movie kind of went a little too hard in my opinion, and got completely wrapped up in its own complexity by the second movie. all they really needed to do was state that society is a set of rules that are meant to keep people in line by order of the masters. but the rulers are ultimately the ones who decide in how far they want to exploit it from their greed, and the "awakened" people are the ones who decide in how far they are willing to accept it. so there was things about that movie that people liked but couldnt figure out completely how it relates to the outside world. theres a lot that people are lied to about in this day and age but dont know where to blame.

higher education turned into a kid factory when I was still in it, and even I saw that. expensive loans were being handed out a lot for kids fresh out of high school. including myself. I was told that with that, I can make my own way forever. but before then, college typically was set up for just the ace students who had big scholarships, the adults who took time off from their work and family life to get a degree so they can get ahead in their already established field, and well off families sending their kid out of state. :to:

instead, now there is a glut of mass of high schoolers who are getting in. instead of looking for other realistic ways to get into their chosen field to gain experience, or learning a trade, everybody started trusting in getting a degree first and foremost. its hard to blame the previous generation for promoting that so hard since it was more true in their times, but today its only a mess. everyone had to look at the signs and realize how it was going to turn out.

and the thing about it being high school part 2, is very true. the students dont even appear to be anything like how the college students were when my pops went to a cc. that was about 84-85. the maturity level is a lot more juvenile and even less prepared to even be back in a costly school to decide what they want to do in life. theyre less prepared then they previously were.

they even say today, that 30 is the new 20. 40 is the new 30. that must mean that all the 20s are glorified teens and preteens. and I would be a little hard pressed to argue that. theyre supposedly growing fast, but its only so they can have more sex and have children younger in life when theyre unprepared, in order for them to be in debt sooner and stay working, instead of winning.

and with the economy being what it is, everything else is going to be slowed down and held down significantly. even the retirement age keeps getting shoved back. wtf is that. school is becoming whats wrong with the system in a major way. overpriced classes for degrees that dont hold the importance that they used to. we always say, that something that everyone gets to possess loses its value. like with women.

its the same simple principle with school, with its exclusivity pretty much gone, so is its value. :ld:
